Kendal Mint Cake ~~ Despite the name, it’s not cake, but a firm, mint-flavoured energy bar that’s been a British staple for generations.

It also found its way into the pockets of climbers on the 1953 Everest expedition - where Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay famously carried it to the summit.

Simple, sweet, and surprisingly effective - especially at altitude.
