Peas take a look at the weather report for tomorrow, because there is no rain in the forecast! We have a ton of unique and delicious produce for you to come check out this Saturday, like snow peas and g*i lan! Trade out your umbrella for some SPF and come see us Saturday morning!

Currants – Franklinton Farms

Snow peas – Toad Hill

G*i Lan (aka Chinese broccoli) - Franklinton Farms

Zucchini – Raber

G*i lan (or Chinese broccoli) is an Asian green with a bold flavor and edible flowers. The Versatile Vegan says it’s complex flavors come out in this G*i Lan with Tofu Stir Fry: https://woonheng.com/g*i-lan-with-tofu-stir-fry/

Snow peas can be eaten cooked or raw and are similar to snap peas. Snow peas work well in this recipe for Sugar Snap Pea Salad: https://avirtualvegan.com/sugar-snap-pea-salad/

Currants are small berries that are typically sour with some sweetness. Make it sweeter with Persian Currant Jam: https://www.hamisharafi.com/free-recipes/redcurrant-jam

Here at the Worthington Farmers Market, we are pet people! But in the dog days of summer, the market is not a great place for our canine companions. Heat and crowded conditions make the market a stressful and potentially unhealthy place for dogs and other animal companions. Please consider leaving your pets at home as the temperatures heat up!

It's getting hot out there! Beat the heat at the market by planning ahead, and remembering our heat tips!

1. Come early before it really heats up - our market opens up at 8AM! (Bonus - you'll miss the big crowds!)

2. Drink your water! If you need a reusable water bottle, purchase one at the info booth (on the corner of the Graeter's Lot) for $5!

3. Find Shade! We are so lucky to have an abundance of trees and shade in our beautiful historic district. There is plenty of shade under the trees on the Village Green - take a break!

4. Refill, refill, refill! Use our water bottle filling station located on the southwest Village Green to hydrate all morning.

5. Consider leaving your pups at home! While we love our fluffy market friends, their paws don't love hot asphalt (and it gets hot very quickly)!

Join us every Saturday morning in the Worthington Historic District every Saturday morning through October (except 10/3) from 8am to noon!

Tarragon – Feed Me Tomatoes

Dill – Rock Dove

Scallions – 9N

Radishes – Many growers including Raber, Drift Hills, and Franklinton Farms

There may still be strawberries if you come at opening time to Tilley or 9N!
