Good morning mushrooms fans...it's The Mushroom Man. So...if you missed us at the Charles Town Farmers Market last weekend, don't worry, we just delivered a few packs of Blue Mesa Oyster and Snow Oyster mushrooms to Bushel and Peck. Quantities are limited (at least for now) so you will want to get in there quick.

Well...our first official farmers market was a huge success. Not only did we sell all of our fresh mushrooms, but we sold all of our dried medley and alot of candles too. Thank you to all our patrons for putting a huge smile on our faces and thank you to the Charles Town Farmers Market for accepting us. If you missed us today, our next official date on June 11th, but if we can, we may be there on May 30th as well.

New pressure cooker worked great. Only did 6 5lb bags of masters mix substrate...not sure if I could have fit 9? 4 more bags of pastuerized substrate as well. Pulled some liquid culture for storage...Mushroom Mesa's big 3 (Lions Mane Sampson, Black Pearl King and Blue Mesa). Going to inoculate some bags with those this afternoon. Oh...and our new bag stamp camenin too...it turned out great.

Well...first market day is in the books. The empty cooler is a good sign. Deb also sold a good many of her handmade soy candles. I know we are starting out small but I am feelin' pretty good about our little business at the moment. And it makes me happy to know that people went home with our mushrooms and will make amazing meals (hopefully) to feed their families.
