Everyone is invited to come together for this special cultural event at our market!

Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead), celebrated in Mexico and parts of Latin America, is a time to remember and honor loved ones who have passed away through offerings, food, symbols, decorations, and music.

We are honored to host a community ofrenda (altar) at the Lents International Farmers Market this Sunday, November 1. The ofrenda will be curated by our market staff member who has a cultural connection to the holiday.

All are welcome to bring pictures of their deceased loved ones to display on the ofrenda.

We're particularly interested in showcasing a performer or group from or near the Lents neighborhood who shares a cultural connection to this beautiful tradition.

Discover the unique Oaxacan produce offered by Bonifacio Garden at Kenton Farmers Market this Wednesday!

Meet Ricardo, a lifelong farmer and the owner of Bonifacio Garden! Together with his wife, Reyna, and their children, he cultivates seasonal fruits and vegetables on their two-acre farm in Boring, Oregon. They also grow ancestral foods such as calabacitas, quelites, pepicha, and chilacayote, which are deeply rooted in Ricardo's Mixteco heritage and native to his homeland of Oaxaca, Mexico.

By growing these crops, Ricardo aims to educate shoppers unfamiliar with them while giving fellow Oaxacans a taste of home. So if you encounter an herb or vegetable you don't recognize at Ricardo's booth, feel free to ask him. He will be happy to share information about it and how to prepare it.

In addition to being at Kenton every Wednesday with freshly harvested fruits, vegetables, flowers & eggs, Bonifacio Garden is also at Lents International Farmers Market every Sunday.

This marks Bonifacio's fourth season at both markets, and we are grateful to have Ricardo and his family as part of our community!
