Meet Pizza Weekend! Kayla and Gabriel sling delicious pies out of their mobile pizzeria every Saturday. They take pride in being part of the culture of fresh, local, and thoughtfully-procured food here in Portland. Try the Margherita, made with local, fresh mozzarella and Italian San Marzano tomatoes. Or, give their Prosciutto Pizza a try. Created in a “champagne fever dream,” this pie features Calabrian eggplant marinara, prosciutto, pecorino, burrata, basil, and olive oil.

Returning to the St. Johns Farmers Market for a second year, Pizza Weekend has become a staple in the hot food section. “We love the atmosphere, the market goers, and the neighborhood,” they said. “We were able to meet and connect with so many people, make friendships, and freely express our pizza vision!”

Find Pizza Weekend at the market every Saturday through October!

Fujii Farms has been with the St. Johns Farmers Market since it started in 2009. The three generation farm is back this year with more berries grown in Troutdale, OR. At the market, Ray Fujii enjoys chatting face-to-face with returning and new market visitors about farm operations.

Ray Fujii has worked on the farm his entire life. He follows in the footsteps of his father, who began farming his own land in the 1950s after immigrating to the United States in the ‘30s. Originally, they grew primarily vegetables before switching to half fruit in the ‘60s, then finally landing on mostly berries in the 1970-80s. Occasionally, they’d hire Portland students to help on the farms and at markets during the season, staying engaged in the PDX community.

After downsizing in the 2010s and making a switch to selling primarily at farmers markets and their produce stand, they still grow multiple variations of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries on 120 acres! Ray loves seeing his daily hard work pay off with successful harvests and then getting to rest and plan at the end of the season, carrying on the family tradition of almost 70 years.

Berry season is in full swing! Find Fujii Farms at the market every Saturday through the end of summer.

Help us extend a warm welcome to a new vendor this market season, Jorj Bread! Jorj is excited to meet the diverse community at the St. Johns Farmers Market, build relationships, and have the opportunity to share bread and baked goods with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients.

Jorj’s baking journey began in 2024 when his dog, now Jorj Bread’s logo inspiration, passed away. He channeled his negative emotions into bread making, exploring grain science and sourcing grains from local mills. Additionally, Jorj Bread highlights their commitment to locally sourced ingredients to support the regional food system and provide healthy products to our community. Jorj said that using local grain mill flours allows him to make quality products more accessible to everyone through their breads and other goods.

As a new business owner, Jorj has found a lot of support from other PDX business owners, including Jake Newcomb from Newks Hot Sauce. An important part of the business for Jorj is to be able to give back to the community. Jorj Bread has been at pop ups supporting immigrant rights, LGBTQ+ organizations, and those struggling with food insecurity.

While Jorj is looking forward to sharing all of his menu with the St. Johns community this market season, he is especially proud of his sourdoughs, cardamom buns, brownies, and cookies! You can find Jorj Bread at the market this Saturday, 5/30!

Meet Nana’s Ollas! New to the market this year, you can find Nana’s Ollas serving up authentic food from the Guerrero region of Mexico. “I believe that my food is my identity, because the recipes that I offer to the public comes from my family,” Imelda said. “The dishes we make is truly authentic; I prepared them with love using fresh and local ingredients from my heart to yours.”

The business name, Nana’s Ollas, is a tribute to Imelda’s mother, who cooked in ollas, earthenware clay pots. Imelda said she is excited to serve her delicious traditional food to the community of St. Johns. Check out Nana’s Ollas vegan tamales made with black beans with hierba Santa (Mexican pepperleaf), and garbanzo beans.
