Andy’s Orchard is in LA, which means we get to have one of the rarest stone fruit 🍒 Bing Cherry: rich and complex in flavor and is a “standard” for California. Black Republican: Andy’s Orchard describes it as a relative of Bing with taste notes such as prune and mocha. It is “named by an abolitionist after the Civil War to irk his southern sympathetic neighboring farmers.” And lastly Rapunzel nectarines (!!) also known as “snack time”. These donut nectarines are concentrated in flavor, juicy and sweet.

Hi all! Organic apricots are now available for delivery from Murray Family Farms a they taste 🔥🔥🔥 I cannot believe it is April and we already have delicious stone fruit 😍 Cherries, peaches and blueberries are also all available in abundance now!

Due to changing climate and weather patterns farmers need to get creative and think outside of the box. At I am witnessing exactly that… An overhead cooling system which is manually monitored and turned on when temperatures rise above 50F (provided that they have enough water!). It is a misting system that cools and creates a micro climate for these trees in order to prolong chilling portions/hours in a season. Chilling hours are important because it helps the stone fruit trees break dormancy and bloom properly. Every year Murray Family Farms first cherries are tasting more and more delicious thanks to this system. This year we also got a surprise first yellow peaches that are incredible given that it is only April 8!!! I feel beyond lucky to be able to witness it and share it with you all. Thank you for opening your doors and being so generous with your knowledge !!

Tarocco blood oranges, Cara Cara, mandarins, and citrus of different varieties is abundant at 🍊Thank you so much for your hospitality. I am forever grateful for the knowledge you share with us all. Also, slide number 4 is a quick update on cherry trees which are still dormant but they’ll be waking up in a few weeks and getting ready for cherry season which isn’t too long from now.
