Strawberry season is upon us. This is the earliest start to our berries in our recent memory. Quantities are limited as we have just started picking. We are selling at our JFK Rd location in Dubuque daily starting at 9am, and we plan to have some at Dubuque Farmers’ Market on Saturday. It is very likely that these will sell out extremely quickly everyday, so your best bet is to arrive when we start selling for your best chance to purchase strawberries.
This may not be our best strawberry season, due to several nights of frosty temperatures in early May which damaged the blossoms and impacted pollination. The strawberries are still very tasty and picked fresh every morning. These are a true short term delicacy, as we only tend to offer pre-picked berries for around 10 days or so. We will post when we open the field for pick-your-own strawberries, which could possibly start by late next week. Stay tuned.
***Edit- we did sell out of our berries in about 10 minutes today Tuesday.

Behold our bounty of broccoli! Tomatoes are starting to ripen. Asparagus is still thriving. Kohlrabi is plentiful. Cherry tomatoes are emerging. Also available are South Carolina peaches, radishes, and spring onions. Sweet corn is knee high by 5/29. Come see us at the Dubuque Farmers’ Market or at our JFK Rd stand.

We hope it will be a lovely day at the tomorrow and at our JFK Rd stand. We will have our first batch of South Carolina peaches (clingstone), kohlrabi, radishes, spring onions, rhubarb, and asparagus. We will have a special price on our flower baskets, $25 each or 2 for $40, and also on our hanging cherry tomato baskets, $20 each or 2 for $30. Stop at either place to check out the last of our baskets and bedding plants. We still have some regular tomato plants and pepper plants available.
We will be closed on Memorial Day at our JFK Rd stand, and our greenhouses are now closed for the season.

Tomorrow Saturday 5/16 is market day. We will be at the Dubuque Farmers’ Market from 7am-noon at the corner of 12th St and Iowa St. We will also be at our JFK Rd stand from 9am-1pm. It will also be the last day that we have our greenhouses open this spring, from 1pm-5pm. Beginning on Sunday 5/17, you can still find us daily at our JFK Rd location.

It took some effort to protect our crops during the multiple dips in temperatures over the recent weeks. We are hoping that the colder weather is now behind us. We still have some beautiful hanging flower baskets and some bedding plants left, as we have been working on creating more baskets. We also still have hanging cherry tomato baskets. We have limited varieties of tomato plants left. We are open daily at our JFK Rd location from 9am-1pm and our greenhouses in East Dubuque Sun-Fri 10am-5pm and Saturday 1pm-5pm.

Tomorrow Saturday is market day! We are at the Dubuque Farmers’ Market at the corner of 12th St and Iowa St from 7am-noon. We are also at our JFK Rd stand from 9am-1pm. We will be available back at our greenhouses again after market, from 1pm-5pm. We will have a great selection of hanging flower baskets, bedding plants, hanging cherry tomato plants, tomato plants, and pepper plants.

We are now open daily at our JFK Rd location in Dubuque from 9am-1pm. We are also open at our greenhouses in East Dubuque from 10am-5pm Sunday-Friday and 1pm-5pm on Saturdays. We begin at the Dubuque Farmers Market tomorrow from 7am-noon. Our stand is at the corner of 12th St and Iowa St.

It is time for asparagus and rhubarb. Hopefully we will be able to protect it during these next few nights of cold temperatures. We are opening at our JFK Rd location starting Friday, May 1st. We will be there every day from 9am-1pm (hours will be extended in July). We are opening at our greenhouses in East Dubuque Sun-Fri 10am-5pm and Saturdays 1pm-5pm. We also start at Dubuque Farmer’s Market this Saturday from 7am-noon. We will have fresh asparagus and rhubarb stalks and lots of lovely hanging baskets available.

We have a great selection of tomato plants to help get your garden going. These plants are in 6 inch pots and are very well maintained, and $5 each. We also have hanging cherry tomato baskets which will provide you with a bounty of cherry tomatoes over the whole season, for $25 each.
Some varieties available include: Celebrity, Red Deuce, Mountain Fresh, Early Girl, Big Boy, Big Beef, Beef Steak, Health Kick (Roma), Pozano (San Marzano type Roma), Serengeti (Roma), Carolina Gold (yellow slicing), Badabing (Campari type), Super Sweet 100 (red cherry), Sun Sugar (gold cherry), and Patio.
We are now open daily at our greenhouses in East Dubuque. We will also open around May 1st at our JFK Rd location, and opens next weekend on May 2nd.

We are now picking fresh asparagus and rhubarb stalks.

Our hanging flower baskets have gotten pretty magnificent. We open at our greenhouses in East Dubuque starting Wednesday, April 22nd, daily from 10am-5pm. We will open at our JFK Rd stand beginning in May. Dubuque Farmers’ Market begins Saturday, May 2nd. We will open at our Blain’s location in July.
