The program we offer is as follows:
We provide everything that you need to get started renting or owning chickens. Our agreements provide:
*coop suitable in size for 2-4 hens (larger upon special request) - coop is fully enclosed with a roosting area and nest boxes
*waterer
*feeder
*first bag of feed
*pine shavings to get you started
*grit
*oyster Shell
*2-4 hens that are of laying age
**We do
not guarantee the breed of hens you will receive. At the present time we have Black Austraplorps, Rhode Island Reds, and Barred Rocks. Later in the spring we should have other breeds including but not limited to Silkies, Polish, Easter Eggers, and Marans also available on a limited basis. Our rental season runs from April through October, with a lease term of 3-6 months. We also have winter programs available.If you enroll in the program, and plan to continue into the next year but do not want to keep your hens over the winter, we will pick up your hens and coop. We will tag them for you if you want the same ones returned the next season. We require 50% deposit to guarantee you a coop and hens. Please contact us via email or phone before you submit a deposit to confirm availability. If you prefer not to make a deposit, you are more than welcome to contact us in the spring to see if we still have a coop and hens available. If you are interested in owning your own birds and coop, purchase options are available. We offer chicks, hens, roosters, coops, and set up. If hatching your own eggs sounds like fun, we can help you do that too! We will provide you with a pre-set digital incubator, an automatic egg turner, hygrometer, thermometer, directions, and technical support through out and following your hatch. We will even delivery the incubator to you and set it. All of the chicks that you hatch are yours to keep if you wish, or you may pick and choose which ones you want to adopt and which ones you want us to take back. We cannot guarantee which eggs you will get, but we usually have Black Copper Marans, Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers, Polish, Silkies, and a brown-egg barnyard mix. We guarantee at least 12 fertile eggs (though we frequently provide many more to assure that you have a wide variety of chicks and a very successful hatch). We test our egg fertility every month and currently have a greater than 90% fertility rate. Our success rate on hatches is currently 96%, and while we cannot guarantee your hatch rate, we will provide you with the directions and support to ensure little peeps in your future!
