🍎 Produce Perks Pause — Customer Q&A

What’s happening?
The Produce Perks token program is being temporarily paused starting July 1 due to a lapse in statewide funding.

Can I still use my tokens?
Yes. Tokens can be redeemed through June 30 on any fresh fruits, vegetables, or food‑producing plants.

Can I earn new tokens right now?
Yes — through June 30.
Beginning July 1, no new tokens will be issued until funding is restored.

What happens to my tokens after July 1?
After July 1, tokens will no longer be accepted, so customers are encouraged to use any remaining tokens before the deadline.

Why is this happening?
The statewide program is experiencing a temporary lapse in funding. This pause affects quite a few participating markets, not just ours.

When will the program return?
We’ll resume issuing and accepting tokens as soon as funding is restored. Updates will be shared as soon as we receive them.

What can I buy with my tokens right now?
Tokens can be used on:
- Fresh fruits
- Fresh vegetables
- Food‑producing plants (tomatoes, herbs, peppers, berry bushes, etc.)

Does this affect SNAP/EBT?
No. SNAP/EBT benefits continue as normal.
Only the bonus Produce Perks matching program is paused.

How can I stay updated?
Follow our page for updates. We’ll share news the moment we receive it from the statewide program.

🚨URGENT PROGRAM UPDATE🚨

The Produce Perks token program will be temporarily paused starting July 1 due to a lapse in funding.

You can redeem tokens now through June 30 on any fresh fruits, vegetables, or food‑producing plants at the market.

If you have tokens at home, now is the time to use them.
We’ll share updates as soon as we receive more information.

We want to reassure all our Chillicothe Farmers Market customers that most nutrition and incentive benefits are still being honored at the market — even as some programs shift or funding sources change.

That includes:

- Farmers Feeding Veterans tokens
- Adena Rx Vouchers
- Adena Veggie Perks tokens

Each of these programs is supported by different funding streams, which means one program’s changes do not affect the others. If you have tokens or vouchers from any of these initiatives, you can continue using them every Saturday.

Thank you for supporting local growers and healthy food access for our community.

Our community is strongest when we take care of one another — and that’s exactly what the Farmers Feeding Veterans program is all about.

Through our partnership with American Legion Post 62, eligible veterans receive $10 in market tokens each week to spend on any food items at the Chillicothe Farmers Market.
Fresh produce, baked goods, meats, eggs, honey — if it’s food, the tokens can be used to bring it home.

This program does more than provide groceries. It builds connection, honors service, and strengthens our local food system by supporting both veterans and local growers.

If you’d like to help expand the reach of this meaningful initiative, donations can be made anytime through our website. Every contribution — big or small — helps us nourish more veterans in our community.

Thank you for helping us grow a community where everyone is fed, valued, and welcomed.
