What is a DERMA STAMP?
A derma stamp is a microneedling device that creates tiny, controlled punctures in the scalp.
What are the main potential benefits?
The controlled micro-injuries may caused by the tiny needles may trigger a would healing response which may encourage follicles to enter or remain in the growth phase.
Clinical trials have and reported improvement in hair count, density and shaft thickness, particularly when used alongside hair loss treatments .
These can increase the pe*******on of topical products .
* May stimulate hair follicles. The controlled micro-injury triggers a wound-healing response involving signalling pathways and growth factors that may encourage follicles to enter or remain in the growth phase.
* May improve hair density and thickness. Clinical trials and systematic reviews have reported improvements in hair count, density and/or shaft diameter, particularly when microneedling is used alongside established hair-loss treatments.
* Creates temporary microchannels in the scalp. These can increase pe*******on of topical products. This is one reason microneedling has been studied so extensively in combination with topical treatments.
* May support scalp tissue remodelling. Microneedling stimulates the skin’s repair response, including collagen-related processes, although this should not be marketed as proof that it directly “repairs” damaged hair follicles.
A derma stamp has a practical advantage over a roller for the scalp: the needles enter more vertically rather than being rolled through the hair, so it can be easier to target thinning areas and less likely to catch or pull existing hair.
