Fairwood Farmers Market

Fairwood Farmers Market Visit local growers, artisan food producers, and talented crafters in North Spokane! The Fairwood Farmers Market is a vibrant community event located at 319 W.

Hastings Rd, Spokane Wa 99218. Our 2024 market season will run from May 14th- October 8th. Join us every Tuesday from 3-7 PM (or sunset) whichever comes first. We be there rain or shine, but thunderstorms and wildfire smoke have sometimes influenced our schedules. During the pandemic, we were declared an essential service, just like grocery stores. We provide a market full of organic produce, meat

farmers and processors! Stroll through Fairwood Market and see local beer, cider and wine vendors, incredible artisans and hand crafted body products and candles. Thanks to cooperation from local landlords, merchants and Calvary Chapel Church, we have plenty of free parking. You’ll find 30-50 seasonal stalls filled with excellent product ready to be accessed by our wonderful Mead and North Spokane community!

The people behind the booths at Fairwood Farmers Market are something special — and this week we want you to meet a few of them. 🌿

Swipe through to meet four incredible vendors you’ll find at the market this season:

🍞 The Bread Basket — After leaving her job to stay home with her kids, she discovered sourdough and never looked back. No preservatives, no shortcuts — just fresh baked breads and treats made with pure joy. She’s currently perfecting a dill pickle loaf and we are very here for it. 🥒

🔮 Evergreen State of Consciousness NW — Founded in 2017 from a passion for turning overlooked materials into something meaningful. Handcrafted jewelry, essential oils, crystals, clothing, and intentional pieces inspired by nature and self-expression. Every single piece is made with purpose.

🤠 The Scone Ranger — David Ainley has been crafting habit-forming scones in Spokane since 2009. You may have spotted his legendary spray-painted van — Lone Ranger wielding scones instead of pistols. Over 15 years later he’s still showing up, still baking, and the line at his booth tells you everything you need to know.

📚 Jeffrey Dunn — Local author, dream fisher, and history miner. Jeffrey’s lyrical storytelling has been praised by Kirkus Reviews and Publisher’s Weekly, heard on NPR, and read in cities across the country. Come meet him at the market and pick up a book — you won’t regret it.

Stop by their booths and show them some love. These are the people that make Fairwood special. 💛

Strawberry season is HERE and we are not calm about it. 🍓🌿

Local strawberries are one of those things that remind you exactly why shopping at the farmers market matters. Smaller, sweeter, and picked at peak ripeness — nothing like what you’ll find at a grocery store.

And if you manage to not eat them all on the way home, try this simple homemade strawberry jam:

-2 cups fresh local strawberries, hulled & mashed
-1¾ cups sugar
-1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
-1 packet (1.75 oz) powdered pectin

Stir pectin into mashed strawberries in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a full boil, then add sugar all at once. Return to a full boil and boil hard for exactly 1 minute, stirring constantly. Skim foam, pour into jars, and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks. Spread on everything. 🍞

Grab your pints this Tuesday before they’re gone! 💛

The stories behind the booths at Fairwood Farmers Market are something else. 🌿

Swipe through to meet three vendors joining us at the market this season:

🌾 — A family farming legacy rooted in the Yakima Valley. After 10 years learning the trade, they went independent and haven’t looked back. Every piece of fruit and every vegetable is hand-picked at peak quality and brought straight from their harvest to your table. This is what dedication to the field looks like.

🇮🇹 — Over a century ago, Albert Commellini left Tuscany and built something extraordinary in Spokane. Today, four generations later, the family is still here — still cooking, still hosting, still bringing authentic Italian hospitality to our community.

🍔 Locally Grown Grub — The food wagon from in Rice, Washington, serving scratch-made meals featuring their own ranch-raised lamb and beef. Their signature Waterloo Burger — ranch beef, sourdough roll, cheddar, and secret Waterloo Sauce — has people saying it’s the best burger they’ve ever eaten. Come find out if they’re right.

Come hungry, come curious, and come ready to meet the people making it all happen. See you Tuesday! 💛

Some people turn their passion into a business. These three turned theirs into something the whole community gets to enjoy. 🌿

Swipe through to meet three incredible vendors setting up shop at the Fairwood Farmers Market this week:

🍞 — Born in a Los Angeles apartment during the pandemic, this small cottage bakery packed up, fell in love with the Palouse, and brought their incredible sourdough straight to Spokane. Local grain, serious craft, and a story worth tasting.

💜 — A former corporate America life traded for Eastern Washington soil and 300 lavender plants near a century-old milking shed. This is what following your heart looks like, and it smells amazing too!

🍦 — Real ingredients, real flavors, real fun. Their first scoop was huckleberry out of a 2-gallon home machine, and the dream just kept growing from there. Every scoop is made to exceed your highest ice cream expectations.

Come meet the people behind the products this Tuesday. Trust us, you won’t leave empty handed. 💛

The early harvest is HERE and it is beautiful. 🌸🍓

Swipe through to see what’s showing up at the Fairwood Farmers Market right now — because early season produce hits different when you’ve been waiting all winter for it.

This week look for:

🌸 Peonies — big, lush, and absolutely stunning. Grab a bouquet before they’re gone.

🍓 Strawberries — sweet, local, and nothing like what you’ll find at a grocery store.

🥬 Fresh greens — lettuce, kale, chard, bok choy, spinach — your salad bowl is about to level up.

🌿 Herbs — chives, parsley, oregano and more, fresh cut and fragrant.

🌱 Radishes — crisp, colorful, and peak right now.

🪴 Plant starts — still a great time to grab your tomato, pepper, and herb starts for the garden!

Early season is fleeting — what’s here this week may not be here next week. Come Tuesday and grab it while it’s fresh. 💛
