Emerson-Garfield Farmers' Market

Emerson-Garfield Farmers' Market The Emerson-Garfield Farmers' Market is a seasonal multi-vendor marketplace for locally grown fresh produce and handcrafted items.

Established in 2013, the Emerson-Garfield Farmers' Market is a seasonal multi-vendor marketplace for locally grown and regionally sourced foods. As an initiative of the Emerson-Garfield Neighborhood Council, it is entirely volunteer-run and places special emphasis on affordability as well as neighborhood involvement and revitalization. Thanks to essential logistical support from Project Hope Spoka

ne, the EGFM is a "sister" market of the West Central Marketplace and market tokens are valid at both locations. The Emerson-Garfield Farmers' Market accepts EBT, credit and debit cards. The market also participates in the Fresh Bucks program, which means that SNAP participants receive an additional $2 in spending for every $5 they charge to their EBT card.

One week to go! We are super excited to see you all. We are also going ahead and offering the $25 match for our SNAP users (thanks to BECU) and offering $4 coupons at our Kernel booth, childrens activity, so kids can get fresh fruits and veggies as well. Tell all your friends, as most other markets are only offering $10 match. So, this Friday at Emerson Park, from 3-7pm, we will be looking for you. I will do a post on Friday to let you know the line up and the musician for that day.

Only one more month to go and we will be open on Friday afternoons from 3 to 7pm starting June 5th until September 25th! There is some exciting news and changes happening at the EGFM. We are able, thanks to generous donors, to offer the $25 match for SNAP users!! This was quite the journey as the State told us that $10 was all that they could offer due to funding cuts. We kept at it and are receiving the funds to continue to offer $25 like last year. BECU is the sponsor of this wonderful offer this summer. They will be at the market most days so make sure to stop by and thank them when they are with us.
Another great piece of news is that we can now give children $4 coupons when they do the Kernel activity at the booth! This is a great new way that we can have children be able to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables on their own and learn some valuable lessons while doing their activity. We are so happy about this.
We are now at our full point for this summer for vendors. I will put a list of our new and returning members, some are full time and some are day to day. It should be a fun time at Emerson Park.
We will still be able to accept Farmers Market Nutrition WIC and Senior WIC. If you received tokens last summer they are still good to redeem with us.

Good morning and Happy New Year to our friends of the EGFM! It is a short 6 months until our first day this summer and we are already excited. The application should be up on the website in February for those who want to be a vendor. We still plan on being at Emerson Park like last summer.
At this time we are looking for volunteers for market set up and for the Kernel (childrens) program. We are also looking for market financial sponsors, mostly to smoothly operate the market and to have musicians there as well. So, please take some time and think about any of these and let me know if you are interested or need more information.
We will keep you informed when we have a schedule of events and any important news that arises. Thank you all for following the EGFM and let's stay in touch!
