Closure of Summit Road between Broad Street and Autumn Way
Please be advised that Summit Road will be closed to through traffic between Broad Street and Autumn Way beginning on Monday, June 1st.
This closure is expected to last approximately 60 days, with Summit Road scheduled to be reopened by August 3rd. This work is part of the 2nd, and final, phase of the intersection improvements project that includes a new traffic signal and widening of Summit Road to include left and right turn lanes, which will be a significant safety and capacity improvement over the existing intersection. This closure is specifically needed for utility and paving work to be completed to accommodate the upgraded and expanded infrastructure.
We do apologize for the inconvenience. We hope to avoid major delays similar to what we all experienced last year during the closure of the north side of the intersection. As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the needs of the City are adequately addressed.
Please see the included exhibit for the detour route. Access to the Providence Orthodox Presbyterian Church will be allowed from the South. Note that the contractor is working with the goal of minimizing the duration of the closure and restoring through traffic as soon as possible.
Please contact the Assistant City Engineer, Antonio Anzalone at 740-927-3873 with any questions or concerns.
