A considerable amount of work needs to be accomplished today, specifically preparing the rabbit area for there arrival tomorrow, setting up the third brooder for chicks that will be hatching, obtaining feed for the animals, and handling any other tasks that come up, in addition to regular farm upkeep.

We are pleased to announce that our incubator now contains 12 turkey eggs, courtesy of JohnHenry Martinez, and 3 additional duck eggs, with expectations to unfold over the next 28 days. Should our incubation prove successful, we plan to offer chicks for sale next spring. Meanwhile, pending favorable developments, we anticipate receiving a breeding trio of New Zealand Rabbits this weekend, aiming to provide fresh rabbit meat in a few months. Rest assured, we will continue to keep you informed about our progress.

1 Oz of pickling lime to 1/4 cup of water
(1oz is 2 Tbl spoons )
Remember your eggs must be unwashed to water glass them

We encountered a minor setback when the second incubator failed to produce chicks, and despite a thorough investigation, the cause remains uncertain, with all eggs confirmed as non-viable. After a comprehensive cleaning and sanitation process in our shop, 14 additional eggs were placed in the incubator today. Assuming a successful incubation period, we expect new chicks to emerge in approximately 21 days. The eggs are a barnyard mix from our farm, consisting of Rhode Island Reds, Red S*x Link, and Ameraucana breeds in various combinations. We are potentially looking towards next spring for hatching chicks for sale, contingent upon progress meeting our expectations. There is considerable activity underway here on the farm, and we look forward to sharing updates with you.

As always we have eggs for sale if you find yourself in need.

Another incubator was set up today for 14 eggs, with the first batch expected to hatch by May 2nd and this new batch by May 10th, which should yield 28 chicks in the brooder under normal circumstances.
