Directions

We are Fox and Mare Farmstead, a 60 acre farm with 250 chestnut trees and 250 pawpaw trees.

We raise dairy and meat goats, rabbits, quail and would love for you to visit our farmstand outside of Ottumwa, IA or see us at the Fairfield, IA farmers market.

Hi All - We wanted to send out a note to let everyone know we will not be at the Fairfield, IA Market this coming Saturday.

We're wrapping up the chestnut harvest and hope to finish the last of the pre-orders we have for this season.

We will keep Facebook updated on any new product availability and markets.

Chestnut pickin’n

This little one went on a chestnut adventure in the orchard. She and her mom hung out in the orchard with us for at least an hour.

It started cute and alert, and ended barely able to keep her eyes open and even cuter! Enjoy that nap little one!

“I’m sorry…. Were you doing something important?”

Apparently not important enough! A brief pause to take a phone call while mowing and both of these two goobers just hop on up in mid call.

These two do not have problems observing or occupying your personal space whenever it suits them.

Everyone is well and the goats don’t want to be milked in the rain.

Guess what just made an appearance….?!?

First of the year just happened while we were picking pawpaws. The rest will follow in the coming weeks.

I’ve never photographed a soybean field this much. Predawn for feedin the kids. They’re getting big and eatin lots. Solid morning.

We’re pickin up and headed to Oskaloosa for the farmers market. Hope we sell all the pawpaws!!

Good morning and happy Labor Day!

Little less of the sleeping reason and more of the ‘let’s clean before we start chores’ reason why chores are ongoing this morning.
