This is a painted lady and she has only bloomed twice in seven years. They bloom in spring, but here she is in October! She’s gorgeous under these gray skies..She’s kind of a big deal!

My golden Owlbeard is a looker and a Luvr. I’m super excited and feel very blessed to have this rare breed in our flock. Gentle, funny and very sociable.

My husband snapped this great picture of our mockingbird. It can imitate anything, even car alarms going off. I have heard him meow and imitate, cardinals and crows. He likes to sit on the wire in our front yard in the morning and put on an impersonation performance while I drink coffee. He adds a lot of personality to this place. Between him and the morning doves, there’s quite a concert going on here before 7 AM.
