This Thursday, October 9th will be the last market for many of our vendors. The rest, particularly produce vendors, will be hanging on until next week, October 16th. Stop by the Nisswa American Legion from 8-12:30 to support your local growers and artisans!

There's still time to grab local produce! Our market season will continue for at least a couple more weeks!

Had to bring out the tractor to help me move all these tomatoes!
I’ll have extra boxes of canning tomatoes at the Nisswa market tomorrow, as well as jalapeños, bell peppers and basil. You don’t have to buy cases of jars and stand over boiling pots to make really great tomato sauce! We like to cut our tomatoes into wedges and roast on foil-lined cookie sheets in the oven until they're soft and the liquid has evaporated. Then blitz it in a food processor or blender and freeze flat in ziploc bags. There's a lot of flavor in tomato seeds and skins, and this way you'll keep it all in a rich, concentrated sauce.

I'm also bringing a bucket of turmeric tops to market (along with the roots, of course.) My evidence is anecdotal at best but we have found that a hot soak with chopped turmeric stems and leaves in the tub does wonders for aches and pains.

My Nisswa Farmers Market will be a bit different next week and I apologize, but I will not be at Main Street Market Downtown Brainerd next Friday. 🧡
I'll be making Fall Cookie Plates for Thursday's market in Nisswa. You may pre-order if you like as I'll have a limited quantity. I'll be meeting in Merrifield and Brainerd later in the day Thursday with pre-orders. 💛🍁💛
I'm still scheming 😁 ...but I'm thinking more than 1 dozen cookies per plate with at least 6 different flavors. $15/plate.

The season is not over yet! Our tables are loaded with fresh produce, gorgeous flowers, local honey, pastured meat, baked treats, and crafts. Stop by and check out one of our new drop in vendors, Bubba's Botanics Microgreens. They have beautiful microgreen mixes for you to choose from.

A little chill in the air means it's time for fall mums and decoration! Stop by the American Legion in Nisswa between 8 and 12:30 on Thursday mornings. Market season continues for us until October!
