EHHD Health District The EHHD provides public health serves to 10 member towns in Northeastern CT

We are part of a county-wide collaboration to promote and improve access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity for everyone, every day. This collaboration is led by the Eastern Highlands Health District and the North Central District Health Department in partnership with many organizations, agencies, and individuals. Thanks for helping us spread the word about all the great ways to live a healthy lifestyle right here in the ten towns served by EHHD! The towns include Andover, Ashford, Bolton, Chaplin, Columbia, Coventry, Mansfield, Scotland, Tolland, and Willington.

EHHD has blood pressure screenings this week and a class series (that includes a home monitor to keep) next week! FREE. FREE. FREE! No age or residency requirements. Both are at the Beckish Senior Center (Columbia). Details are in Hot Topics on the EHHD home page. The events are at the Senior Center, but you don't need to be a senior to participate! The events are in Columbia, but residency is not a requirement!

Lead can be hiding in plain sight. đź«Ł

It can be found in paint and dust in older homes, bare soil, plumbing fixtures, some consumer products and more.

Young children are especially vulnerable to the effects of lead exposure, and many children who are exposed don't have obvious signs or symptoms.

The good news? There are steps you can take to reduce exposure and protect your family.
