The Bellevue and Council Bluffs markets are done for the season but both will be hosting monthly winter markets. Stay tuned!
PS Aksarben is still going until Oct 11 but I was not invited this Sunday 😕

Vic will be at the last Bellevue Market tomorrow with sweetcorn and his fresh salsa and of course my fresh milled baked goods! Sadly, I won’t be there tomorrow as I have to bake for Aksarben market Sunday. I will be attending Bellevue’s winter market that begins in November. Watch their page for details. I hope to see you there!

I am looking for anyone with apple trees that we can pick ourselves. We lost our jonagold tree in a storm this summer and I need a good supply of apples to freeze dry.

Did you know a single wheat kernel holds about forty of the forty-four essential nutrients your body needs? When I mill it fresh, none of that gets stripped away.

Did you know fresh-milled flour can have up to three times the vitamin E of store-bought whole wheat? The germ is where it lives, and it starts fading the moment the kernel is cracked.

Did you know wheat berries keep for years, but once milled, the flour is best within a few days? That’s why I mill right before I bake.

Did you know freshly milled flour tastes nuttier and sweeter, kind of like the difference between fresh-ground coffee and a jar that’s been open for months?
