**An Important & Difficult Update For The 2026 Season Market**
Community is at the heart of everything we do, which makes this update particularly tough to share. After holding out hope for a late surge in registrations, we have reached a crossroads: As of today, we do not have enough vendors to host the Lisbon Farmers Market this year and as of right now, we will not be able to move forward with the 2026 market season.
We want to be completely transparent with you about why this decision is being made and what it would take to change it.
**The Challenge: Putting the "Farm" in Farmers Market
While we’ve had a wonderful response from our talented local bakers and crafters, our primary hurdle remains a low signup rate among farmers. *
**The Current Reality: We currently have only one farm signed up for the market season.
**The Feedback: We heard your feedback last year loud and clear: you want more fresh produce and agricultural variety! We know that a "Farmers Market" can’t truly thrive without a core group of farmers.
**The Sustainability Gap: To cover operating costs and ensure a vibrant experience for shoppers, we need a consistent weekly total of 8–10 vendors, including at least 3–4 full-time farmers. Right now, we are looking at only 3–4 total vendors per week.
We’ve learned from experience is that a market with only one produce vendor isn't sustainable for the farmers, the small businesses involved, or the customers who make the trip to see us.
Is There a Path Forward?
We love this market and the Lisbon community. If there is a last-minute surge of interest from local farmers, we would be thrilled to change course! But for now, we have to make the responsible choice for everyone involved.
Thank you for your continued support of local agriculture. 💚
