🍂🌻 That’s a Wrap on the 2026 Bayview Farmers Market Season! 🌻🍂

What a wonderful season it’s been! 💚

October 17th marked our final market day of 2026, and we couldn’t be more grateful for another fantastic year filled with fresh local food, talented artisans, delicious eats, live music, familiar faces, and the incredible sense of community that makes Bayview Farmers Market so special!

To our customers, vendors, neighbors, and everyone who stopped by to support local this season—THANK YOU! You are the heart of this market, and we couldn’t do it without you! 🥕🌸 🙌

We wrapped up the season with a wonderful end-of-year celebration for our vendors, made even more special thanks to the generosity of Beverly Graham our amazing music coordinator and community representative, who brought her food truck all the way from OSL Serves in Seattle to treat all of our people to a delicious meal for closing day! ❤️

After a busy season of early mornings and bustling Saturdays, it was such a treat to finally sit down together, relax, enjoy amazing food, catch up with fellow vendors, and share some laughs over a few traditional market games before heading home for the day! It was the perfect way to celebrate another season of hard work, friendship, and community.

As we say goodbye to our regular market season, we’re already looking forward to welcoming everyone back for our Holiday Market, beginning November 28th! 🎄✨

Here’s to another season of growing, gathering, and celebrating community together! 💚🌻👨‍🌾 🙌🎉

There’s a lot more science happening in a cup of coffee than you might think. ☕🔬

At Sound Coffee Roasting, every cup begins with the chemistry of the roast. As green coffee beans are heated, hundreds of chemical reactions take place — including the Maillard reaction and caramelization — transforming their color, aroma, acidity, sweetness, and flavor.

As roasting progresses from lighter to darker stages, the beans undergo physical and chemical changes that create very different flavor profiles. Lighter roasts tend to preserve more of the bean’s original characteristics, while further roasting develops deeper, more caramelized and roasted flavors.

Then comes the pour-over, where variables like water temperature, grind size, brew time, and the ratio of coffee to water all influence extraction — determining which aromatic compounds, acids, sugars, and other soluble components ultimately make it into your cup.

It’s equal parts chemistry, precision, and a really good cup of coffee! 🪄☕ 🙌

Stop by Sound Coffee Roasting this Saturday at Bayview Farmers Market, 10 AM–2 PM, watch the process in action, and taste the results for yourself!

A little golden goodness from right here on South Whidbey! 🌼

From the flowers blooming across our island to the hardworking honeybees collecting their nectar, local honey is one of nature’s sweetest creations!

Todd Peterson of Whidbey Island Honey brings beautiful, golden honey straight from South Whidbey to Bayview Farmers Market! 💛

Honey is a wonderful reflection of the landscape it comes from. As bees forage among the flowering plants in their surroundings, they collect nectar that contributes to the unique flavor, aroma, and color of each harvest. 🌸🐝

Whether you’re drizzling it over warm biscuits, stirring it into your morning tea, adding a little sweetness to homemade recipes, or enjoying it straight off the spoon, locally produced honey is a delicious way to enjoy a little piece of Whidbey Island!

And behind every jar is the fascinating work of thousands of honeybees and the dedication of a local beekeeper who helps make it all possible. 🍯

Be sure to stop by, say hello to Todd, and pick up a jar of Whidbey Island Honey to take home!

There’s just something about the smell of fresh kettle corn drifting through the market… 🍿✨

You know the feeling — you’re wandering through a farmers market, fair, festival, or community event when suddenly that warm, sweet-and-salty smell hits you. Before you even see the booth, you already know exactly what it is. There’s a little bit of nostalgia wrapped up in every batch. ❤️

That’s part of the magic Gary brings with Northwest Kettle Corn! Each batch is popped fresh right there at the market, filling Bayview Corner with that unmistakable aroma and sending folks home with big bags of crunchy, sweet-and-salty goodness.

It’s simple, classic, and somehow tastes even better when you’re eating it by the handful while wandering the market. 😋🍿

Come follow your nose to Northwest Kettle Corn this Saturday at Bayview Farmers Market, 10 AM–2 PM — and grab a bag for the ride home… assuming it makes it that far! 😉

October may be here, but berry season hasn’t quite said goodbye yet! 🫐🍓🍂

One of the joys of eating with the seasons is watching the market change week by week — and right now, summer and fall are overlapping in the sweetest possible way. Tucked among the squash, apples, greens, and other autumn harvests, you can still find beautiful locally grown berries!

Blueberries are hanging on, blackberries are looking plump and glossy, and the raspberries are putting on a gorgeous late-season show — including those beautiful golden varieties. ❤️💛

These final weeks of berries feel a little extra special. They’re a reminder that growing seasons don’t follow a calendar perfectly; each crop responds to its variety, the weather, and the conditions of the year.
While we’re welcome to welcome all the flavors of fall, we’re still savoring these last little tastes of summer for as long as our farmers are able to continue bringing them in for us! 🫐☀️🍂

Find them at Bayview Farmers Market this Saturday, 10 AM–2 PM — and enjoy berry season while it lasts! 💛

Pepper season is starting to kick into gear at Bayview! 🌶️

We’re starting to see all kinds of beautiful varieties popping up: sweet bells in shades of green, yellow, orange and red, shish*tos perfect for blistering in a hot pan, poblanos and plenty of other shapes, sizes and heat levels to experiment with!

A few ideas for putting them to good use: toss peppers on the grill, stuff and roast them, blister shish*tos with a little salt, make fresh salsa, add them to fajitas or stir-fries, or preserve a batch for a little taste of summer later in the year.. 🌶️🫙🫑

Come see what’s in season this Saturday at Bayview Farmers Market, 10 AM–2 PM!
