I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself as I get this little page started.
My name is Matison Davis, and I'm the owner of Five C Cottage Bakery. I'm also a Christian, a wife, a homeschooling mama to five wonderful children, and a midwife.
For the past several years, I've had the privilege of serving families through midwifery, a calling I truly love. But as our family has grown, I felt increasingly drawn toward being home with my own children and building a life that allows me to be present for the everyday moments that matter most.
Around the same time, I began learning more about traditional foods, fresh-milled flour, sourdough baking, and cooking from scratch. What started as a desire to feed my family well quickly became a passion. The more I learned, the more I fell in love with the process of creating wholesome, nourishing foods with simple ingredients.
Before long, friends and family began asking for loaves of bread, cookies, and other baked goods, and what began in my home kitchen slowly grew into something more.
That's how Five C Cottage Bakery was born.
My goal is simple: to provide families with delicious, homemade baked goods made with fresh-milled flour, organic ingredients whenever possible, and traditional baking methods. Whether you're looking for sourdough breads, fresh treats for your family, or convenient baking mixes that make homemade food easier, I hope to offer something that brings a little comfort and nourishment to your table.
Every item is made right here in our home kitchen in Gainesville, Texas, with the same care and attention I give to the food I serve my own family.
While my husband and I recently made the decision to stop sharing photos of our children online, I wanted to share a photo of the two of us as the faces behind the bakery. ❤️
