The 61st Street Farmers Market takes place every Saturday—rain or shine—from mid-May through mid-December, from 9am-2pm. During the outdoor season, which lasts through the end of October, the Market is located on 61st Street between Dorchester and Blackstone Avenues. In November, December, January, February, March, and April the Market goes indoors at the Experimental Station.

Each week, the 61st Street Farmers Market partners with local organizations and individuals to bring you programming that fosters curiosity, education, artistic expression, and health.

10 AM–1 PM: MARKET SCHOOL
Community education through arts and crafts, gardening tips, grow kit giveaways, and more.

10 AM–1 PM: SPROUT STATION
A family-friendly activity tent filled with crafts, story times, music, and more.

10:30 AM: CHEF DEMO
Local chefs share seasonal recipes using ingredients from market vendors.

10 AM–1 PM: HEALTH & WELLNESS
Access free health resources, information, and giveaways.

10 AM–12 PM: BLACKSTONE BICYCLE WORKS OPEN SHOP
Bring your bike and work on it with support from Blackstone Bicycle Works staff and volunteers.

Our 61st Street Farmers Market returns outdoors this Saturday! ☀️🌱

Alongside 30+ vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods, prepared foods, and locally made products, we’ll also have fun and educational market activities for you to participate in every week. Whether you come alone, with friends, or with family, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

✨ Weekly Activities:
🥘 Chef Demo at 10:30 AM
🌱 Market School from 10 AM–1 PM
🌼 Sprout Station from 10 AM–1 PM
🚲 Blackstone Bicycle Works’ Open Shop from 10 AM–12 PM

The outdoor market season runs through October 31.

🕘 Saturdays | 9 AM – 2 PM

For our SNAP customers, we accept SNAP and match your SNAP purchases through Link Match. Look for the red tent in the middle of the market on 61st Street to use your SNAP benefits and get matched for fresh fruits and vegetables.

Join us for the last indoor market of the season—a final chance to shop your favorites, connect with vendors, and celebrate before we head outside 🌿

We’ll return with our weekly outdoor market starting May 16—we can’t wait to see you there!

Vendor Spotlight: Joe’s Blues 🫐

A longtime favorite in our market family, Joe’s Blues is rooted in care—for the land, the fruit, and the people who enjoy it. Founded by first-generation farmer Joe Corrado in Southwest Michigan, the farm has been restoring overlooked blueberry fields since 2009, growing without chemicals or pesticides and building something sustainable every step of the way.

From fresh blueberries in peak season to year-round favorites like cold-pressed blueberry juice, jams, soaps, and even kombucha—everything they make reflects Joe’s philosophy: nothing goes to waste.

With blueberry season just around the corner (late June–early August), Joe is already preparing for the busy months ahead—and even expanding into cranberries 🌱

Farmers markets are at the heart of his work, connecting directly with the community across Chicagoland and Michigan. And his message to all of us is simple:
“Keep showing up. Your support makes this work possible.”

This week we’re celebrating Chef Didier Durand of Cyrano’s On-The-Go, bringing classic French flavors to the 61st Street Farmers Market.

Trained in Bergerac, France, Chef Didier came to Chicago in 1986 and has spent decades sharing his passion for simple, high-quality cooking, from working as a Sous-Chef at Carlos’, one of the premier fine dining restaurants in Chicagoland, an Executive Chef at renowned restaurants throughout the country, as well as running his very own restaurants and bars to a vendor at 61st Street Farmers Market. Cyrano’s On-The-Go from leading renowned restaurants to serving the Market community today.

From coq au vin and lobster bisque to smoked salmon spreads, his philosophy is simple: great food at a great value.

Stop by this Saturday, say hello, and ask yourself: What’s for dinner? Ask him about his upcoming Cassoulet & Cabaret and Culinary Tours of France, too.
