Meet our Culinary Connections Manager, Pilar Duplack! 🍽️

Pilar excited to join Green City Market to foster relationships between local farmers and chefs. With 15 years of experience in restaurants in Chicago, she has behind the scenes knowledge of what it takes to incorporate farm fresh local ingredients into menus and the symbiotic nature of the chef and farmer relationship.

During her time with GCM, Pilar looks forward to creating more opportunities for cooks, chefs, farmers, and Chicagoans at large to build a community with which we might make our shared dreams of sustainability, food access, and overall happiness work.

Outside of GCM, Pilar serves on the Kitchen Committee at ACRE (Artists’ Co-operative Residency and Exhibitions). She also works on transforming a seemingly endless supply of Transformer toys for her 4-year-old and exploring light and time through her sculptural practice. 🌱

Inspired by Jake’s “relationship-to-table” philosophy, this guided experience invites guests behind the scenes of Green City Market to meet the farmers, growers, and producers whose work directly influences some of Chicago’s most celebrated kitchens. Rather than simply focusing on what arrives on the plate, Relationship to Table highlights the people, stories, and partnerships behind the food itself.

Guests will move through the market alongside Jake before peak crowds, hearing firsthand about sourcing, seasonality, Midwest agriculture, and the relationships that shape the ever-evolving menu at Feld.🌱

The Green City Market team is growing!

You may have already met our new Communications Manager, Sydni Brown (she/her) at the market since she joined this past March.

Originally from North Carolina, Sydni began her journey in Chicago as a Digital Content Coordinator at a Chicago-based nonprofit.

She brings over four years of experience in nonprofit communications and social media management, with additional work in influencer marketing and trend analysis.

Sydni is drawn to the stories behind people and places, and cares deeply about using social media as a tool to share those stories and build connection across communities.

Outside of work, you can find her exploring secondhand shops, making crafts with friends, cooking new recipes, and tending to her ever-growing collection of plants.

The Wednesday Lincoln Park markets start tomorrow at 7am and our Saturday Lincoln Park (7a-1p) and West Loop (8a-1p) markets will continue as usual.

This is the one event people ask about all year.
July in Southwest Michigan is a turning point. Cherries, blueberries, raspberries. The first peaches. The fields are full. Squash, cucumbers, tomatoes coming in strong. The menu follows the harvest, built around what’s coming in that week.

We’ll gather at , a third-generation family farm in Southwest Michigan that has been growing for this region for decades. Fruit is picked at peak ripeness and brought straight to market, with a deep, long-standing commitment to the land and the people it feeds.

It’s simple in the best way. Good food, grown well, cooked with care, shared outside.

Your ticket includes a five course meal that reflects the height of the season and the relationships behind it.

This is a fundraiser for Green City Market. Every ticket helps make this work possible. It supports the farmers behind the stands, brings people closer to the food on their plate, and keeps this market open and accessible to more of our community.
