There is SO much truth in this post, The Homemade Mess hit the nail on the head.
I am not about shaming people or any other negativity..... if that's what you're here for ✌️out!
We are all working hard to do our best, I am here to encourage you and celebrate the wins while sharing some tips and tricks along the way!
Can we talk about how TOXIC the “crunchy mom” corner of the internet has become? As someone who is IN this space, I need a rant, so hang with me or head out. 😂
I stir with a plastic spoon? I’m poisoning my family with microplastics, which apparently means I don’t care about my kids.
I use a plastic bag? Clearly, my family's well-being isn't a priority.
I buy store-bought tomato paste because I literally DO NOT WANT TO MAKE TOMATO PASTE TODAY? Ope, I'm a hypocrite who doesn't practice what she preaches. 🙃
And don't get me started on crunchy mom groups where women ask genuine questions because they WANT to learn, only to get ripped apart for not already knowing everything.
WHEN DID IT BECOME ALL OR NOTHING?!
I garden. I preserve food. I make a ridiculous amount of our food from scratch. But I also buy convenience foods, use plastic, and occasionally buy things I could make myself because I DON'T WANT TO.
And I'm willing to bet a lot of you do, too.
You can grow a garden and buy canned tomatoes. Make homemade bread and use a plastic bag. Preserve hundreds of jars and still buy the damn tomato paste.
YOU CAN WANT TO DO BETTER WITHOUT HAVING TO DO EVERYTHING.
We're all just trying to feed our families, raise our kids, and make it through the day. Some of us are broke, exhausted, working full-time, or JUST STARTING TO LEARN.
We should be encouraging each other, not making moms feel like failures because they aren't doing everything perfectly.
Girl, if your version of crunchy means shaming other moms, that's not helping people. That's just mean girl mentality.
