🌦️All farmers are watching the weather forecast like a hawk right now. It is dry. VERY DRY! We need rain. Here at the orchard, we are at a critical development time for our peaches. Let’s all say a prayer for some rain this week. ☔️🌈💦

🍑 🫙🍀 Big “THANK YOU!!”to Moore Magnet Elementary for allowing me and Samara and Alexis, from our UT TSU Montgomery County Extension, to come and talk all things peaches! I talked about the peach life cycle and life on the farm, while they showed step-by-step how to can your own peach jam. Of course we had to end the day with a a little “sweet treat” for them to try! I think these kids are ready for peach season too!! 🍑☀️❤️

📚12 years ago it was incredibly hard to leave the classroom. I loved teaching. I loved my students. But, I loved my family more. I knew that staying home with Eleanor would allow for us to flourish as a family. It allowed for me to say “I’ll be there!” for our kids, especially when Jason was in the middle of planting or harvest.

I am so grateful God didn’t this close the door, he just opened up a different one. Farming has allowed me to come back to schools in a different way. I wish I could go to every school and build a business, but sadly that isn’t realistic. My dream is that one day I can bring all the kids to the “my farming classroom” … 🤓🌱❤️

🌱 Jason’s family is beyond supportive! From helping us get the farm started, willing to help fix equipment, babysitting kiddos, helping set the planter - they are always just a phone call away! I couldn’t do any of this without them!

🍑☀️ Today I got to welcome some new friends to the orchard! It was such a fun opportunity to share what we do each day here at Head Peach Company and give people a glimpse into farming and where their food comes from.

I almost talked myself out of hosting because I kept thinking, “What do I have that’s worth driving that far for?” But this sweet group reminded me how special this crazy dream of ours really is. So thankful for days like today.

❤️ My hope everyday that I when I meet someone here, that I can inspire them to go after their “crazy little dream” too.
