Methylene Blue is a well-established antioxidant that has been shown to improve mitochondrial function. Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell and plays a pivotal role in energy production, cellular respiration, and overall cell health. Mitochondrial disfunction has been linked to a wide range of diseases. From neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, to metabolic conditions such as diabetes and obesity.

Methylene Blue acts as a redox agent. This means it can accept or donate electrons within biochemical processes. Basically, it acts as an electron shuttle for mitochondria which can improve its efficiency. By acting as a redox mediator, methylene blue can help restore the function of impaired mitochondria and protect against oxidative stress, a major cause of mitochondrial dysfunction.
