Halloween is just about here, and we are ready for it here at the farmstand! We have our spooky decorations up and all the fall goodies out, and we are ready for you to come and Trick-or-Treat!! When you come to visit the farmstand this weekend and say "Trick-or-Treat," we have a fun-sized frozen treat for you, as long as supplies last.

We have completely gone Pumpkin Spice crazy over here, and it is so, so nice! Have you had Pumpkin Biscotti before? I have been experimenting with my pumpkin bread, and Pumpkin Biscotti is definitely my new favorite baked good. After I slice and second-bake the Pumpkin Bread, all the flavors just amplify into these perfect little biscotti wands. It is delicious with tea, coffee, or Golden Mushroom Elixir. It also makes a perfect edible spoon for our Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream, which is our current seasonal flavor of AZ Honey Sweetened Ice Cream. I am also planning on making Pumpkin Bread French Toast for Simon and myself out of my Pumpkin Bread this weekend. I also love Bread Pudding and was thinking of trying my hand at Pumpkin Bread Pudding!

It has been a glorious fall so far, and we have still not had our first frost. I am doing all I can to finish harvesting and processing all the rest of our garden goodies. I am making more Pecan Pesto from our basil, which is available in the farmstand freezer right next to the Ready-to-Bake Cookie Dough. With the Pesto, you can just add your own Parmesan. Otherwise, it is vegan and tastes amazing as is! We are also processing all the spicy garden peppers and are making Pickled Peppers, Hot Sauces, Spicy Salts, Seasonings, Hot Honey, and Chili Flake Honey for all of you who love hot, hot, HOT! We harvested the last of the Prickly Pear fruit, so a new batch of Prickly Pear Infused Honey should be available soon!

Our chickens and our neighbors' chickens, who help supply the farmstand with eggs, have not been laying much at all! We are not sure why, but it may just be the time of year and the weather. We do not know, but chickens are so sensitive!

So, currently, we do have some chicken eggs available in the farmstand fridge, but the supply is limited. When you come by, you will find other staples also available in the fridge, including:

🎃🍂 Green Magic Garden Farmstand Offerings - Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream, Maple Pecan Pumpkin Bread and Trick-or-Treats!! 🍦🍁

Fall is officially here, and the weather has been amazing! 🍂 Our flowers, basil and peppers are still bursting in the garden, and Simon is planting away, getting our winter garden ready before the first frost hits. 🌻🌿
I don't know about you, but our basil has been out of hand all season. 🌱 I am currently working on creating spice mixes highlighting basil, including Basil Infused Salt, Pesto Spice and Herbaceous Mushroom Seasonings. I am also making Pecan Pesto to have available at the farmstand freezer along with the Ready-to-Bake Cookie Dough! Pecan Pesto freezes so well. Just add parmesan, and it is a simple way to elevate any everyday meal. I love to eat it in addition to crispy air-fried chicken thighs, as a spread on my sandwich, dabbed on my eggs in the morning, tossed into grilled vegetables, mixed into my favorite pasta, or for something a little extra decadent, I like to add a little butter, cream and parmesan to the pan and make a creamy Alfredo Pesto! 🍝🧄🌿
🌶️🔥 I really enjoy working with peppers! It can be a little spicy dangerous, but they are so amazing. I have made a new hot sauce, and it is nice and hot, hot, hot! 🔥🔥🔥 It's not like Ghost Pepper or Carolina Reaper hot, but it's packed full of spice and flavor. I am calling it El Gnomo Rojo since I gathered all the spicy red peppers and habaneros from the garden and packed them into this beautiful red hot sauce. ❤️🌶️ It really highlights how delicious these peppers are, and I'm so happy with how it turned out! I also have Happy Dragon and Spicy Bunny Hot Sauce available. If you have had my enchilada sauce, you will love Happy Dragon. 🐉 Spicy Bunny is carrot-based, and I think it's perfect if you are wanting all the zesty goodness of a hot sauce but not make your food taste like Mexican food. More like Sunday Brunch hot sauce! 🐰🥕
🎃☕🍦 Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream pints are now on the menu!! My young friend Luna works with me here at the farmstand, and she is all about Pumpkin Spice. She has come up with Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream and, to make it even more over the top, put it in between Pumpkin Cookies for our new seasonal ice cream sandwich! 🍪🍦 All of our ice cream is sweetened with Arizona Orange Blossom Honey that we get from our neighbors here at Sedona Bee Co. 🍯🐝
We will be debuting our new Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream and Pumpkin Ice Cream Sandwich this weekend at a special Pop-Up event at Camp Verde's Bloom Flower Farm. 🌸 It's a special end-of-the-season U-Pick flower harvesting event where local vendors are getting together to share and celebrate together. We have such an amazing community, and I am excited to go. I hope to see you there!! 💐💚

🌿 Green Magic Garden Farmstand Offerings - 🌱 Microgreens, Hot Hot Hot Sauce, Pickled Peppers, Prickly Pear Popsicles & Jiu-Jitsu!! 🌻

🥋💜 It's been 4 years since I started jiu-jitsu. I started because of my daughter, Bronwyn. She was asking me forever about doing jiu-jitsu and when she started at 17 I got talked into attending and I got hooked too. It was the best getting to train with her!

I have always gone often, sometimes 2x a day. I am currently a purple belt and have been instructing children and women for the last year and I recently started instructing a co-ed class in Sedona these last few weeks. I just really love learning, and it is a really difficult sport. I have been instructing movement for the majority of my life and I have to say it's most similar to instructing aerial silks except in silks, gravity is your opponent. They both also require a high level of problem solving, safety awareness, grip and core strength and an acute spatial awareness of knowing what your body is doing.

🥋 Often I work with crazy white belts, both women and men, who I feel want to eat me alive. They come in with guns blazing, not knowing how they are actually completely capable of hurting me or themselves. What's nice is they usually start integrating their jiu-jitsu as they progress and start to become technical and less win crazy. I am lucky enough to have many higher level training partners who know I am not out there to compete with the 20 year old men but still want a tough, technical roll.

At the end of the day, strength, gender and aggression can play a huge role on your ability to dominate your opponent, which is great for competition or a real fight. It is amazing how much we can endure. I honestly do not mind if someone inflicts pain on me, I just don't want to go home hurt or injured. As for my age and stature I love the fluidity, creativity and how everyone does jiu-jitsu differently.

🦄 Currently I have 2 main training partners. A magical unicorn white belt, Bridey, who reminds me a lot of myself when I started jiu-jitsu. Very gentle, non-aggressive but super loves learning and catches on quick! My other main training partner is a female black belt, Danielle Miller. She is aggressive and strong and does not give me an inch. I feel I fall somewhere in the middle. I was very timid when I started, I had no idea how to protect myself. I don’t consider myself aggressive but I am definitely working on not feeling bad when I am in a dominant position!

I feel I have a very fun, playful, technical style and I'm excited to get to share my knowledge. If you ever want to try it or have a kiddo in your life that is asking, be sure to look up Combat Club AZ. They have a studio both in Cottonwood next to Safeway and one in Sedona next to Whole Foods.

🌿💚 As for jiu-jitsu and the farmstand, I am so thankful I had my jiu-jitsu practice in place before the farmstand came around! Without jiu-jitsu there would be no farmstand! I plan my work schedule around being able to hit my favorite classes which helps reset me. Many of my training partners are also my taste testers and biggest fans of my farmstand and goodies. I also attend a women's mastermind group which is run by Danielle, who also owns Combat Club where women entrepreneurs get together and support one another.

Being surrounded by people working hard, doing hard things, supporting each other, helping out and encouraging one another is what I choose to be surrounded by. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing community that crosses over my passions. I truly feel what I do at the farmstand, including my newsletters and social media posts, is an expression of my art and I feel the same way about jiu-jitsu.

🌿🌼 Green Magic Garden Offerings - Fig Leaf Syrup, Sedona Farmers Market Pop-Up, Gluten Free Brownie Ice Cream & Fall Events!! 🌵

So crazy how the Camp Verde Farmers Market Season is over. It really was such a great experience! It wasn't my intention at all to be doing farmers markets or special events this year. I thought I would just look them up, visit them and see about lining things up for next year. But no, I guess that's not how I roll! We went and tried a number of markets and events this summer and learned so much hands on. Our farmstand does really well on its own and keeps us so busy, so the markets and events really are something special for us. Not only do we get to inject ourselves into the community and share what we do but it also allows us to employ help. If you have come to any of the events you have probably met our cookie fairy, Luna! Everyone thinks she is my daughter but she is actually the daughter of one of my dearest friends and I have known Luna since she was a kiddo! It is just awesome watching someone grow into the coolest human and also want to come and work with us as our first employee. She is such a pleasure to be around. She helps with everything from vending, making cookies, recipe development, churning ice cream, turning compost to harvesting from the gardens(she has a large bug phobia so that last one is a struggle for her!)

Simon is growing fig trees from cuttings and they are growing like weeds! We currently have a mini fig orchard popping up. Next year we will definitely have some figs for sale but for sure young trees will be available. Yesterday Luna and I were preparing recipes for canning and came across a Fig Leaf Syrup recipe. This syrup has blown us away!! It actually tastes like coconut vanilla with a hazelnutty-ness to it. Not like anything we have had before. I really don't understand why this is not a widely used flavor?! I definitely plan to use it a lot. I'm thinking of making fig leaf popsicles and lollipops. I will definitely make Fig Leaf Ice Cream! Currently I'm canning the syrup and will have it available at the farmstand and upcoming events. The syrup is perfect on ice cream, yogurt, in coffee, with golden mushroom elixir, sparkly water, or mixed into a cocktail. I think it would taste great with rum! It would also make a great drizzle for cakes, muffins, pancakes or any dessert. Ooooh, shave ice too! Anyways, I'm just saying, you have to try it! It is unique and delicious.

✨️ This week we will have our farmstand fully stocked. Fresh Cookies and Honey Pecan Rice Treats Fri-Sun. The Egg Fridge will have fresh Salsa, Magical Pecan Butter, Sprouts and Yogurt. We will also be doing a Pop-up event this Sunday 11-3 at the Sedona Farmers Market!! This weekend only. If you don't bring your cooler bag we have ones available (free with purchase of any 2 items or more) along with an ice pack so you can wander the market and still get your pints and frozen goodies home safe and sound! They are also available at the farmstand right next to the frozen cookie dough.
