We are thrilled to share our 2025 Impact Report with you!

Last year was a big year for Down to Earth Markets:

🥕 We opened a new farmers market in Battery Park City
🥕 We recertified as a B Corp
🥕 Along with other New York farmers markets, we stepped up our efforts to fill the gap in delivering local food relief programs when funding was cut significantly by the federal government.

It's harvest time for Great Joy Family Farm's garlic scapes! Their garlic scapes are exceptionally sweet and tender because they carefully pick the tender pale stems below the green stalks. This extra step takes more time and labor, but delivers a special kind of garlic scape that is only available for only a few short weeks each year.

Garlic scapes are the vibrant green, curly shoots that grow up from the central stalk of hardneck garlic plants in late spring and early summer. They're perfect for stir-fries, grilling, pesto, and more. Find them at Great Joy Family Farm's booth in our Cunningham Park, Larchmont, Ossining, and Park Slope farmers markets.

Have you ever had egg salad made the Italian way? It’s a refreshingly light and bright take on the mayo-heavy American version. It involves fresh greens, spring herbs, capers, lemon zest & juice 🍋, and extra virgin olive oil.

Spoon it over toasted slices of Via Piante’s gluten-free, whole grain bread for an extra dose of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Who else is trying this for lunch today?!

Look at these gorgeous bouquets of springtime ranunculus from New Petal Flower Farm! 💐

New Petal Flower Farm is a micro farm in Monroe, CT specializing in unique cut flowers. They supply hard to find varieties of dahlias, lisianthus, zinnias, tulips, ranunculus, anemone, snapdragons, stock, sunflowers, sweetpeas and foliage. You can find them every Saturday this season in our Larchmont Farmers Market.

Locally grown "slow flowers" offer unmatched freshness and will typically last longer than imported blooms that have been airfreighted or trucked over thousands of miles. By prioritizing natural growing seasons and cutting out long-distance transportation, these bouquets have distinct environmental and quality benefits compared to mass-produced flowers.
