Favas are a Favorite!

Fava beans are finally here. They may be a lot of work to prepare, but they’re certainly worth it. First, you’ll want to remove the beans from the pod — make it easy by pulling on the “string” along the seam of the pod. Next, after quickly blanching the beans, rub off the outer shell to access the buttery beans inside.

The trend of the season: Garlic Scapes!

Garlic Scapes are the curly, flower-bearing stalks that emerge from the bulb. Harvesting garlic scapes is beneficial, as it encourages the plant to direct more energy towards bulb development, resulting in larger and healthier garlic bulbs. You can use them anywhere you’d use scallions, green onions or green garlic to impart a super fresh, green, garlicky flavor.
