In 2007, County Commissioner Lamar Paris organized a committee to oversee the development of a local market that would give our growers, big and small, a place to sell their goods. It was decided that artisans, beekeepers to bakers and potters to painters, could also sell their handmade goods. So when we boast “Homegrown and Handmade”, you know that you are purchasing products that have been produced right here in this area!

This past Saturday, we had the privilege of honoring a man whose vision helped create the Union County Farmers Market and whose years of dedication helped make it what it is today.

We recognized Mickey Cummings for his service, leadership, and commitment to supporting local farmers, vendors, and our community. His hard work and passion laid the foundation for a market that continues to thrive and bring people together year after year.
