While this doesn’t look good, it could’ve been way worse…

Ella Kate called me and said there was a cow having trouble giving birth, she had been in labor for at least 2 hours.

Normally when you see feet coming, the calf is born in about 20-30 minutes.

So I grabbed a rope and a small piece of chain to try and pull it in the pasture, fully expecting it to be dead.

I was able to get the head out and it didn’t look good, but then wait… I think I saw it blink. Then its head moved a little bit and we realized it was still alive.

I gave the cow a couple minutes to rest and then helped pull it the rest of the way out.

She is now up and we have another new heifer running around the pasture 🙌🏻

D1 Drought Conditions and we are still growing grass here. These paddocks were grazed just around a month ago.

I took a trip to Alabama last Friday to pick up the newest member of the Bull Squad.

We aren’t sure what to call him yet, but Cece thinks we should name him either Bicep Man or Burly Man.

Walker thinks those names are silly, and is in favor of King Gigantor.

These kids are too much 😂😂😂

What do you think we should name him ??

The Freeze Miser is the real mvp of this freeze for us. Not only did it keep the cows water trough open when the puddles on the ground were frozen, it also created an nice ice sculpture.

4 inches of rain isn’t what you want right before a big freeze, but we are blessed to not have to deal with the conditions on the I-20 corridor this weekend.
