Hi everyone, and a very Happy Mothers day to all the Mum's out there for tomorrow.
A very dear friend of mine has today become a "Nana" for the fist time and the joy that has bought to her and her husband was so very precious to see.
We all know that family dynamics can sometimes be challenging but within that, isn't it wonderful to have family. To be accepted for who you are, to have shared memories that no one else can have shared, growing up together as a family.
It's pretty special.
So this evening I am not going to post loads of photos of all the stall holders.
I will mention 2 new stall holders joining us tomorrow, Edward, I came across at my Matakana market last Saturday and encouraged him to join our market.
Edward is steeped in traditional Māori medicinal plants. He makes healing balms from our native plants. These include balms for eczema, restful sleep, coughs and chest support, healing tonic for woman. He is so knowledgeable, and has spent his life studying and working with our native plants.

We also welcome Eco wick. Below is a brief "blurb" from them.
Urvashi creates stunning candle bouquets and hand-poured *coconut wax*
> jars. All fragrances are *paraben-free, phthalate-free, and
> toxin-free*. We’re proudly *cruelty-free* and made with the
> environment in mind.
I'm loving all these vendors that are so aligned with the values of our Farmers Market.
Off to bed soon, another 4am start. See you all in the morning ☺

Hi everyone, I thought I'd share, I'm so very fortunate to be able to live semi rural but so close to pretty much everywhere, and at times I get to see the most glorious sunsets. I'm counting my blessings a lot these days considering what's going on in the World at the moment.
We are truly lucky to be able to live in this country. It's not perfect but it's a pretty special place.
I have a sister who is volunteering in Ukraine for the second time and I get to see what the world doesn't get to see. Ordinary people just like us, with the same worries as us, trying to live a "normal" life. Nothing has been normal for them for over 4 years now but they don't give up and will never give up. The Ukrainian people stay determined, and they still dance in the streets for festivals. It's extraordinary and humbling.
So when you get up in the mornings, maybe take a moment to be grateful for what we all have and sometimes take for granted 🥰.

The market is fully booked this Sunday so plenty to see, eat and stock up your pantry for another week. See you all in the morning.

Well haven't we all been blessed with some wonderful sunny weather in the last week. And if you're like me, it's made a huge difference in my sense of well being, being able to get outside and enjoy some sunshine. And it looks like we are in for a lovely weekend of fine weather as well. I can almost hear all our stall holders heaving a collective sigh of relief for a fine weather forecast ☺.
A couple of times a month Stuart joins us at Orewa, he sells his wife' amazing ceramic creations, as you can see by the top two photos. Both porcelain and stone ware. It's pretty impressive what Ginny can create, so stop by and check out his stall this Sunday.
Mother's day is fast approaching and there's plenty of options for gifts for Mum at the market, jewellery, wood ware, plants for her garden and maybe some jam, relish or honey and you can "pre order" flowers from Nan so you can pick them up fresh on Mothers day.

Good afternoon everyone. I hope you all enjoyed your day the weather was beautiful, talk about extreme weather patterns, yesterday it rained all day and today, so lovely.
I have to admit, I didn't get up early this morning to attend the local Anzac dawn parade. It's very rarely that I get to have a sleep in on a Saturday morning so I made the most of it, however I did take a moment to think about the men and women that have died in conflicts all over the world, and the worst of it is that it is still happening today. Sad really.
Anyway, what's on at the market tomorrow, Pabla has let me know his specials for tomorrow, Dragon fruit 3 for $10.00, Capsicum $1.00 each,
Broccoli 3 for $5.00, King sweeties 3 for $5.00, Cauliflower 2 for $5.00, Onions $1.99 per kg and Gold kiwifruit, $2.99 per kg. He also has new seasons mandarins on his vege stall. Great prices , so grab a bargain.
Penny is having a sale on her handmade cushion covers, $5.00 each and if you didn't hear me chatting with Nick on Rodney More FM, Yasar and Mona our Turkish food vendors, are now making Onion Dolma's at only $3.00 each, and Stacey, Mahurangi Honey has Coastal blend comb honey for $12.00 each.
We have had to move our vendors from the grass area as it's getting too muddy. So incase you can't immediately see them they will be in the asphalted market space.
See you all in the morning. ☺

Evening everyone. I can't seem to make head nor tail out of the weather forecast for tomorrows market.
1 site says its going to be awful the other says the rain will be clearing by 9am. I have my fingers crossed that the worst of the weather will go over tonite and if the wind shifts to a North or North Easterly we are pretty sheltered form that.
Whichever way it goes, it's definitely a, bring your umbrella or raincoat day.
I am expecting a few cancellations however, everyone that can manage to will be there.
I am so pleased we had reasonable weather for our Easter egg hunt, thanks to all the families that bought their children down to join in and a big thankyou to Nick Rado from the Rodney More FM Breakfast Club show for doing a great job on the mic.
Incase you aren't aware Nick is also a "stand up comedian". He's also a "clean" comedian, no swearing, no smutty jokes etc so it would be cool to help his ratings if you "follow" him.
See you all in the morning. ☺🙏

Hi everyone. Good to be back in touch and talking about this coming Sunday market.
The sun rise we stall holders are fortunate to see at Orewa are often magical.
I hope everyone got through cyclone Vianu without too many problems.
I think we all dodged the worst of the weather but I was very grateful to not be trying to trade in that weather.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday ☺

Hi everyone. Due to the terrible weather conditions predicted for this coming Sunday the 12th, we have decided, for the safety of our vendors and customers, to cancel the market.
It is not possible to trade under those conditions and the reality is, gazebo's are like big sails in windy conditions and often dangerous.
So we will miss you all and we hope you stay safe and dry. Don't forget to tie down or put away anything that could go flying.
Best wishes from us to you and yours's and we will se you all on Sunday the 19th. ☺

Good afternoon everyone. I hope your Easter weekend is going well. The weather is lovely and incase you haven't heard, we have the big Easter egg hunt happening at the market tomorrow. It starts at 10am and after the hunt there will be spot prizes from our stall holders so make sure you get a ticket before the Easter egg hunt starts. Nick from Rodney More FM Breakfast club show will be hosting the hunt and the spot prize give aways. It's going to be a great day. Thanks to one of our followers reminding me to let all our customers with dogs to keep them on leash at all times and don't let them go hunting for chocolate. Thanks for that Chrissy :-).
Pabla, fruit and veg has sent me through his specials for the weekend, Broccoli $1.00 each. Avocado's $1.00 each, King sweetie capsicums $1.00 each, Cauliflower $2.00 each, Agria potatoes $2.00 per kg, Onions $2.00 per kg and Gold kiwifruit $4.99 per kg. Great prices and at the moment, while we are all being careful with our finances, you can always get some money saving deals at our wonderful fruit and vege vendors.

Don't forget to put your clocks back 1 hour on Saturday night ☺️
See you all in the morning 🙏

Evening all. We have a new vendor joining us on Sunday. These pics of flowers are all hand crocheted. It seems to be the "new" trend at the moment although our lovely Lexi has been hand crocheting her delicate jewellery for as long as she has been at our market.
Alice E has some lovely warm corduroy overalls and jackets to rug up your little ones over winter.
Nan our flower specialist always has beautiful fresh blooms at a really great price and check out Wainui Mushrooms for all of their dried mushroom mixes, grow your own mushroom kits and fresh mushrooms.
Have a lovely evening everyone ☺️

Hi everyone. If you haven't caught up with the market news lately, here's an update on what's happening this coming Easter Sunday.
We are having a big Easter egg hunt for all our young market shoppers, ie, children.
Not only that but after the Easter egg hunt there will be spot prizes given out from our vendors.
Here's how I anticipate things going, fingers crossed ☺.
The Easter egg hunt will start at 10am. Before the hunt starts, everyone with children wanting to join the hunt will collect a ticket from David who will be by the coffee cart, check out for the sign.
All our stall holders will have hidden eggs on or around their stalls and there will be eggs hidden in the green space beside the market.
If any of the children don't find an egg, unlikely, because we have 200 eggs to hide, but if that's the case I will have spare eggs on my stall, the Get Pickled stall.
After the hunt, we will draw out tickets and the lucky winners will be directed to a stall to collect their prize.
Nick from Rodney More FM' the Breakfast Club will be MCing the event.
So come and join us, bring you young ones and get free Easter eggs compliments of The Orewa Beach Farmers Market.
See you there !!!.
It's going to be loads of fun and chaos 😆.
I know how tough things are getting, so come on day for a free event.
