🥩🔥BE IN TO WIN! 🥩🔥

Something special for beef lovers!

We've got hold of A5 Japanese Wagyu Scotch Fillet - check out the marbling! It's available from our butchery serve over (beside the deli) at $279.99/kg (!!).

It's world renowned for its incredible rich flavour, and best shared in 80-100g portions. Be in to win 1 x 300g steak - comment below who you'd share a steak with!

(Winner drawn end of Sunday 25 Oct. The winner will need to pick the steak up from New World Devonport.)

We've just finished a big two night job on some critical infrastructure that you wouldn't normally think about: our gas coolers that run our in-store refrigeration were end of life and needed to be replaced (just in time for warmer weather!). These are like the outdoor units for your heat pump, but they have 50x more capacity...and we have two of them. These units work hard keeping stock cold 24/7, and they don't even do any of our store heating or aircon.

This has been 10 months of planning with refrigeration contractors, structural engineers, acoustic consultants, and electricians.

A big thanks to our neighbours for putting up with the overnight noise from a crane and construction works. We won't need to do this again for 15+ years!

(This didn't cause our refrigeration issues this morning.)

21/10/2026

2PM UPDATE - The issue has been fixed and all cold stock is being returned to shelves.

---

We're currently experiencing a major refrigeration issue due to a faulty valve. We've now got our freezers up and running, but the issue is still affecting some chillers. This means not all our normal products are available.

We have had contractors on-site overnight and today, and they're working hard on a fix.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
