Butchers vs Supermarket - Rump of Beef 🥩 🥴

Whilst we do believe that supermarkets have their place in your weekly food shop, the reason they are cheaper than your local butchers is often because it’s a far inferior product unfortunately.

If we’re comparing apples with apples then that’s a different conversation, but sadly for this rump of beef bought in our local supermarket, it was definitely a case of apples with…we’re not quite sure 🙈

✔️ there was added fat still charged at £20 per kilo
✔️ bad butchery with sinew left in
✔️ and some questionable packaging and cheap netting

We know butchers can be more expensive for some products but the quality of the product and the butchery here hopefully highlights why that is. And some products - like we showed with our deli meats video - are actually surprising cheaper!

We’re going to attempt more of these videos in a quest to find some supermarket products that shine them in a better light to help you shop smarter!
