IMPORTANT NOTICE - PLEASE SHARE WIDELY

Unfortunately due to the impending bad weather expected on Sunday - we have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow’s

Whilst we realise many of our customers rely on our market to provide them with their weekly shop - and endeavor to open if at all possible, including during quite serious rain - because of our gazebo infrastructure, severe winds simply make it too dangerous for us to operate.

At present we still seem still to be enjoying the calm before the storm, but the overwhelming consensus seems to be that tomorrow will definitely bring winds that will make running our market impossible.

We apologise to all for any inconvenience and hope everyone stays safe this long weekend

See you next weekend!

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS DAY!

AND A HUGE SHOUTOUT AND THANKS TO ALL OUR WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS!

Our Stirling Farmers Market runs 50 weeks of the year - Rotary Club of Karrinyup members spend considerable time throughout the year planning, managing, organising and promoting the market and every week a team of volunteers transport table/chairs/gazebos and umbrellas - then, from around 6.30am (with huge help from Churchlands Senior High School student volunteers) work hard to set it all up and at the end of the day, the team pack it all up and into our van until next week. It’s a big job but also lots of fun, and raises an incredible amount of money for the community (see our Karrinyup Rotary page or website to see where the money goes).

Most of the volunteers are Rotary members or Churchlands SHS students - but we also get a lot of help from the young people we support on various Rotary International youth programmes (like Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards - RYLA - District 9455, Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (D9455) and the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) as well as the odd teenager accumulating volunteeer community service hours for their school for the The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award or from interested members of the community - but WE COULD ALWAYS USE MORE HELP - We’d especially love some who are able to drive the van as volunteers.

If you think you might be interested in being part of it - either by becoming a member of our Rotary Club of Karrinyup - or simply by volunteeering at the Markets on a Sunday - WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
