Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are panini days at Darling Larder.

Pop in for a freshly made panini and coffee, grab a chilled Italian spritz from the fridge, and enjoy a little sunshine at our French bistro tables.

Everything is made fresh each day using the beautiful Australian and imported ingredients you'll find throughout the store.

A good lunch, a little sunshine and nowhere else you need to be. Sounds pretty lovely to us.

If you’re already a fan of the Six-Eyed Scorpion Original and Extra Spicy oils, you’ll be excited about these.

✨ Crispy Garlic & Miso Sesame Oil
✨ Crispy chilli & Extra Virgin Olive Oil

These are the newest additions to the range, and they’ve quickly become a favourite in my kitchen.

Think crunchy garlic, loads of flavour and endless ways to use them. Drizzle over eggs, noodles, soups, roasted vegetables or anything that needs a little extra magic.

Vegan, gluten free, and dangerously good.

Pop in this week and pick up a jar (or three!). I have a feeling these won’t sit on the shelves for long. 💛

A quick heads-up for the long weekend 💛

We'll be closing a little earlier this Friday at 3pm (instead of 5pm), and then back open as usual on Saturday.

We know the day before a long weekend can be busy, and with plenty of entertaining happening, we'd love to make things as easy as possible for you.

If you'd like to order cheese, charcuterie or grazing board essentials, please send your order through via WhatsApp and we'll have it packed and ready for collection. No waiting, no last-minute rush - just in and out.

We've also recently updated our website with our range of pantry and dry goods, which can be ordered online for collection.

If you're popping in for a panini this week, why not complete the experience with a traditional Italian spritz?

Our Macario Italian sodas are sitting chilled in the fridge and are the perfect match for lunch in the sunshine at our new bistro tables.

Made in Italy and inspired by family recipes from 1950s Piedmont, they're as beautiful to look at as they are to drink.

One of my favourite cheese facts is that a cheese can smell much stronger than it tastes.

Take Époisses, washed-rind cheeses, or some of those beautifully orange French cheeses that can clear a room when you open them.

People often assume they'll be overpowering, but the opposite is usually true. While the aroma can be bold and earthy, the flavour is often surprisingly creamy, rich and balanced.

It's one of the reasons I always encourage people to taste a cheese before deciding they don't like it. Some of the most memorable cheeses are the ones people were convinced they wouldn't enjoy.

The best cheese discoveries often happen when you try something you wouldn't normally choose.

Next time you're in, ask me for a cheese that might surprise you. You might just find a new favourite.

Some people take sport seriously. Some people take politics seriously.

We take butter seriously.

And anchovies. And excellent tinned seafood. And cheese in all its forms — hard, soft, smelly, oozy, cow, goat, sheep... we'll happily make room for all of them.

We take olives seriously. We take charcuterie seriously. We take sourcing the best products from around the world - supporting great producers and artisans seriously.

And yes, we'll happily spend far too long discussing which cheese belongs on a cheese board, the perfect pickle for a martini, or whether butter should ever be kept in the fridge.

If you take these things seriously too, you'll fit right in.

We’re still looking for the right person to join our little team on Fridays. ☕💛

Experience as a barista is helpful, but we’re just as interested in finding someone who loves people, enjoys working in a small team, and has a genuine interest in good food and coffee.

At Darling Larder, no two days are quite the same. One minute you’re making coffee, the next you’re helping someone choose a cheese for a dinner party, wrapping a gift, or chatting about what to cook for the weekend.

If you’re friendly, reliable, keen to learn, and think you’d enjoy being part of a food-loving community, we’d love to hear from you.
