A good yield in maize farming starts with a good management!
here are very important things to do in your maize farm:
SPACING
the recomended spacing in maize is 75 - 90 cm between the lines.
35-40 cm between plants when planted 2 seeds on a planting station and 20-25cm when planted 1 seed on a planting station.
FERTILIZER APPLICATION.
This is most important thing in a maize farm.
The right time to apply NPK is when you're planting or 4-7 days after seed emergence,this helps your maize to grow faster. Urea is applied on day 21 after seed emergence
PEST MANAGEMENT
cutworms,bollworms and chafer beetles are commonly found in maize farms and they destroy crops in a faster way. make sure you are spraying pesticides in your maize farm every week (7 days) to protect your maize.
