1. Being a member of ZAM affords you an opportunity to be included on the official national database for all professional Zambian musicians.
2. ZAM provides capacity building for both emerging and established artistes through trainings, workshops, conferences, fellowships, and other strategic activities.
3. Being a member of ZAM gives you NAPSA benefits and insurance cover (terms and conditions apply).
4. ZAM writes visa recommendations for members who wish to travel abroad or overseas for music programs such as concerts.
5. ZAM recommends its members for international festivals.
6. Being a member of ZAM guarantees you instant government recognition.
7. ZAM safeguards your artistic freedoms by ensuring that your artistic expressions are not infringed upon.
8. ZAM provides opportunities for international cultural exchange programs for some of its members.
9. Most performances at government events (state functions) are now procured through ZAM, which means ZAM members are now prioritized. Being a registered member of a National Arts Association (NAA) is a now a prerequisite to be considered for any program under the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts (MYSA). Note that MYSA is ZAM's mother ministry.
10. ZAM creates opportunities for some artistes to access financing for their musical works and travels.
11. ZAM makes passport recommendations for artistes who face challenges with the Ministry of Home Affairs, e.g artists who are denied passports on the basis of their unique artistic appearance, such as having dreadlocks.
12. ZAM offers help and solidarity to its members in times of need, bereavement or trouble.
13. ZAM advocates for better standards, better working conditions, and increased royalties for all Zambian artistes.
14. ZAM bridges the gap between new and established artistes by bringing them in one space where they all exist as members of one big family. ZAM also runs the official Zambia Music WhatsApp group where all registered artistes discuss plans and solutions to industry challenges.
15. ZAM is Zambia’s official music body which graduates artists from being social entertainers to becoming economic players.
16. ZAM offers a prestigious certificate of membership which can be presented at embassy consulates, borders and job interviews.
17. ZAM provides numerous networking opportunities between musicians and the corporate world.
18. When a ZAM member dies, ZAM organizes an artistic send-off equivalent to a day of national mourning to honor their legacy (terms and conditions apply).
19. ZAM secures event bookings for some of its members.
20. ZAM sponsors some of its members to participate in specific creative industry activities locally and internationally.

You will automatically be added to the Zambian Music WhatsApp group once your membership is processed by the ZAM Secretariat and approved by the elected National Executive Committee (NEC).
