This week, our National Office team came together dressed in black to stand in solidarity with those affected by gender-based violence (GBV). We also observed a moment of silence to reflect on the lives lost, the lives forever changed, and the countless individuals impacted by this ongoing crisis.

But our stand went beyond a moment of reflection. Our colleagues wrote personal pledges, adding them to our pledge wall as a commitment to being part of the change. A counsellor was on site to provide confidential support to employees impacted or affected by GBV. Each team member also received a purple ribbon to wear as a visible symbol of solidarity and our collective stand against GBV.

At RCL FOODS, we believe everyone deserves to live and work free from fear, violence and discrimination. Creating a safer society requires more than words. It calls for awareness, accountability and action from all of us.

When every second counts, being ready can make all the difference. On the 17th of September, 15 teams across our sites put their emergency response skills, teamwork and knowledge to the test at our First Aid Competition.

A big congratulations to our top three teams, Baking Speciality Spartan, Baking Pies Everest and Groceries Culinary.

Beyond the competition, being equipped to respond confidently in an emergency is an important part of creating safer workplaces and looking out for one another. It’s another way our people bring We Grow What Matters to life, by growing the skills, confidence and care that help make RCL FOODS a safer place for everyone.
