Our deepest condolences to Nicola, JP and Coleen, Yolandi and Shaun, Maverick and Lize-Marie, Cass and Kenz, Brya and Garrett and all the grandchildren, and too the MANY Hannes stood as a father too, every member of his family who loved him fiercely and stood beside him.
We mourn with you. We honour him. We thank him.
Vryburg lost one of its great hearts yesterday – the kind of man whose presence filled a room before he even spoke, whose laughter could lift the weight off a bad day, and whose generosity was never a performance, but a quiet instinct that came from bone-deep goodness.
Hannes showed up for people.
Not occasionally. Not selectively.
But every time life called for a man who didn’t think twice before reaching into his own hands, his own pockets, his own time — to make someone else stand taller.
Those who knew him didn’t just know a man — they knew a presence.
They knew safety. They knew humour. They knew real.
Anyone blessed to have crossed paths with him walks away changed forever.
Pick n Pay Vryburg will always remember him — not just for who he was, but for how he made this town feel.
May he rest in the same generosity he gave.
