Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, surrounded by rolling hills and wide-open spaces, is a little place with some pretty big dreams. ❤️

This is where you'll find Funkee Monkee Farmers Market.

A place we're growing into something special. Somewhere families can slow down, little ones can explore, local businesses can shine and everyone can enjoy the simple pleasures of a day in the countryside.

And while we're busy preparing for our return in January, we thought we'd share a little piece of the beautiful view that makes this place so special. 🌿

Sometimes, the best things just need a little more time to grow! 🌱❤️

After a lot of thought, we've decided to give our little market a chance to spread its roots before we swing into our next chapter!

With the festive season in full swing and so many wonderful markets already on the calendar, we're taking the remainder of 2026 to focus on making Funkee Monkee Farmers Market an even more special experience for our vendors, visitors and local community.

This means our remaining 2026 market dates, including Saturday, 31 October, have been postponed.

Behind the scenes, we'll be making improvements to our venue, planning exciting things and putting together our 2027 Market Calendar, ready for our return in JANUARY 2027! ☀️

To our incredible vendors, visitors and everyone who has supported us from the beginning: THANK YOU! Your encouragement means the world to us, and we can't wait to continue growing this little dream together.

WE'VE GOT SOME EGG-CELLENT NEWS... AND IT'S BUTTER THAN YOU THINK! 🥚🧈

There's something wonderfully nostalgic about a proper farmers market.

Fresh eggs, traditional farm butter, friendly faces and the simple pleasure of knowing where your food comes from.

And that's exactly why we're so excited to welcome Gary from Bonny Eggs to the Funkee Monkee Farmers Market family!

Gary will be joining us with his farm-fresh, free-range eggs, bringing a little taste of the farm straight to our market.

And here's the part that has us particularly excited...

🧈 He's bringing traditional FARM BUTTER, too!

Sometimes the simplest things really are the best!

Bonny Eggs is also affiliated with the South African Poultry Association, and we're delighted to have another local agricultural business becoming part of our growing market community.

A pinch of sweetness, a dash of something savoury, a generous helping of deliciousness... and just like that, Taste Alchemy is back at Funkee Monkee Farmers Market! 🐒✨

We're absolutely delighted to welcome Sonja back for another market day!

Now, we don't know exactly what goes into Sonja's secret formula, but judging by the wonderful spread she brought to our first market, we'd say she's definitely onto something! 😉

🥐 Golden, savoury bites.
🧁 Freshly baked goodies.
🍫 Sweet treats that make walking past without stopping a serious test of willpower.

And, of course, those intriguing Alchemist Bars that caught our attention the first time around!

What we love about Taste Alchemy is that there's a little something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a tasty bite while exploring the stalls, something to take home for later, or a treat you fully intend to share (but probably won't 🤭), Sonja has a way of making the decision deliciously difficult!

We're absolutely delighted to welcome back Ahmed and Zulaika from Spice and Ice! 🎉

Now, we could tell you all about their mouthwatering kebabs, burgers, hot dogs, wraps, loaded French loaves and their famous FFF Sub — Fully Loaded, Flaming Hot & Finger Licking Good!

Or their deliciously refreshing snow cones, milkshakes and Boba Soda (yes, soda, not tea! 😉).

But this time, we'd like to tell you a little more about the wonderful people behind the food truck.

You see, Ahmed and Zulaika didn't just arrive at our first market to sell food.

They arrived with kindness, encouragement, ideas and a genuine willingness to see others succeed.

Ahmed took the time to connect with us, share his experience, brainstorm possibilities and offer wisdom so freely. And those conversations meant more to us than he probably realises.

Because when you're building something new, people who believe in your vision, encourage you and genuinely want to see you grow are worth their weight in gold. 🌿

Ahmed and Zulaika, thank you for being those people. We're so grateful for the warmth and positivity you bring, and even happier that you're coming back!
