Recently adding to our principle of conservation through sustainable utilization, Buffalo Kloof has opened a state-of-the-art butchery with currently South Africa's largest dry aging facility.
We are a family-owned and managed conservancy in South Africa's beautiful malaria-free Eastern Cape. With the principle of conservation through sustainable utilization, Buffalo Kloof has so far rewilded 20 000 hectares of wilderness, home to elephants, black and white rhino, cheetah, buffalo, and many other wildlife species.
With ethical harvesting being our main focus alongside eco-tourism, giving a perfect balance between consumptive and non-consumptive tourism. We achieve this through managing perceptions and education.
Through careful wildlife management and ethical harvesting, all our venison goes to the butchery, which is dry-aged. This traditional method of meat preservation breaks down the connective tissue in the meat, resulting in a more tender and juicy texture. It also intensifies the meat's natural flavors, creating a more complex and delicious taste.
The venison is free-ranging with a completely natural diet. It is 100% organic, providing the customer with high-quality protein meat free from any chemicals, growth hormones, or additives, and GMO-free. We also offer a wide range of specialty meat products, from dry-aged grass-fed beef and lamb to biltong, warthog cheese grillers, and venison sausage that are gluten, preservative, GMO, and MSG free.
