BEING EMPATHETIC

Something that I can do
I can feel your pain
Tell me what you're going through
I know this seems insane

But, I can put myself right there
And walk right in your shoes
My heart will then begin to feel
Everything you're going through

I am an empath, this is true
This is how one is empathetic
I can feel the pain inside you
And trust me, I do get it!

I can feel the hurt you bear
And I see it in your smile
Trust me, when I say I care
In your shoes I'll walk a mile

NEVER GOT THE CHANCE

I wanted to say goodbye
But, I never got the chance
And now I sit and cry
As you danced your final dance

I wanted to say goodbye
I didn't know it was your time
A moment passed so quickly by
With broken wings, you couldn't fly

I look back at the memories
I wish I had of seen the signs
You darkened soul needed set free
I didn't get to say goodbye

I wanted to see your smile
The one you always seemed to wear
But, you lost yourself for a while
And I know, I wasn't there

I wanted to say goodbye
But, I never got the chance
A moment passed so quickly by
Now with angels you will dance
