It's probably going to be 2027 before I get back to truck farming. I want to get the ground well prepared and buy up a lot of the supplies and equipment I'll need and growing a garden will take time away from that and the garden won't be as big or as good if I start next year. Plus I need to work with my fruit trees, bushes and vines and get them healthy and producing well.

Might plant a few strawberry plants this fall in some bags of potting mix just for testing purposes to see how they do. If they do well I'll probably do much more the next year to sell.

I'm thinking about doing some seedling trays for sale next year. I don't think I'll be doing any gardening but maybe some cabbage and tomato plant seedlings for sale. Since I'm in Huntsville a lot I'm pretty sure I can sell them if I advertise. Might do some lettuce and pepper plants too.

I won't be planting a garden this year. Going to spend all my free time studying for one or more certifications and other tech goals this year. Maybe when I'm able to get some help ;) I'll get back to it.

I ordered Polbig tomato seeds from Johnny's Seeds today. Polbig are the earliest producing tomato plants I know of. I hope to have them producing by June if not earlier.

Thinking about doing ONLY and LOTS of tomatoes in 2018! Easy to grow. Easy to manage. Easy to pick. Easy to prepare for market and everybody loves tomatoes, especially if you get them in early!

Wow! 258 people reached with my last post! Even though I've shut down for the year I have big plans for the next few years when I will have more equipment, more supplies, more money, more time and hopefully more help ;). I'll be retired in a few years and my fruit orchards should be fully mature by then. I'm really looking forward to it!
