We’re trying our hand at sauerkraut!

Sunday we chopped and packed 25 pounds of fresh cabbage to start fermenting. Now comes the hard part—waiting!

If all goes as planned, we should have plenty of homemade sauerkraut ready to can in about 6 weeks. There’s something satisfying about turning a simple garden harvest into a shelf-stable pantry staple.

We’ll be sure to share updates along the way and let you know when it’s ready!

☀️ Summer cookout season is officially here… and this easy Pepper Jelly BBQ Chicken is always a crowd favorite.

Sweet, smoky, and just the right amount of heat — perfect for backyard dinners, cookouts, or quick weeknight grilling.

🌶️ Pepper Jelly BBQ Chicken

Ingredients

* 4 chicken breasts or thighs
* ½ cup BBQ sauce
* ¼ cup pepper jelly (any flavor)
* 1 tbsp olive oil
* Salt & pepper

Directions

1. Preheat grill to medium heat.
2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and olive oil.
3. In a small bowl, mix BBQ sauce and pepper jelly together.
4. Grill chicken 5–7 minutes per side.
5. During the last few minutes of grilling, brush generously with the pepper jelly BBQ glaze.
6. Cook until chicken reaches 165°F.

Serve with grilled corn, potato salad, or fresh summer veggies.
