Here is a good article describing the Four Lines Plant Bug and other plants it will attack, this is my basil plant that was lush one day and damaged the next. Removing the damage and destroying it helps because the eggs are present in the damaged leaves.
I will be using my home remedy spray on the leaves of my zinnias if I need to, but my pollinators and beneficial insects have to be protected so I am very careful.

Mother Dirt Collective new offering is Orchid planting bark- a perfect planting mix made from our compost, the chunky small bits of wood screened from our aged activated compost. It is small enough to hold moisture but large enough to let it drain properly and not cause water logging to those roots that need air. My own orchid, Julia, is thriving since she was planted in the aged bark.
