Farming has a way of teaching you that. It’s early mornings, long days, and plenty of work that often goes unnoticed. It’s repetitive, sometimes tedious, and built on patience, perseverance, and faith in things you can’t control. You plant, you tend, you wait. Then you do it all again tomorrow.

But it’s also one of the most rewarding ways of life we know. There’s something special about watching a seed become a harvest, seeing families gather around fresh food, and sharing the fruits of our labor with this community week after week. The work isn’t always easy, but it’s meaningful. And we wouldn’t trade it for anything.

There’s nothing quite like a fresh apple cider donut. 🍎🍩Every morning (6am!!), our bakery team starts early to make them from scratch right here at Marker-Miller. The batter is made with apple cider, giving each donut its signature flavor and tender texture. Once they’re cooked, they’re hand coated in a sweet cinnamon sugar mixture while still warm, the step that makes them nearly impossible to resist.

Making them fresh daily means they’re at their very best, soft on the inside, perfectly coated on the outside, and ready to be enjoyed with a cup of coffee, fresh cider, or straight out of the box on the drive home (we won’t judge 😉).

If you’ve ever wondered why they’re one of our most popular bakery items, this is your answer. We’re curious, how many apple cider donuts make it home before someone sneaks one from the box? 👀

Tiny workers, huge impact. 🐝✨While this little bee is busy visiting berry blossoms (for our upcoming you-pick!!), it’s doing one of the most important jobs in agriculture: pollination.
Many of the fruits, vegetables, and flowers we enjoy rely on bees and other pollinators to move pollen from bloom to bloom. Without them, many plants would produce fewer fruits or none at all. In fact, pollinators play a role in producing about one out of every three bites of food we eat.

We like to think of bees as some of the hardest working members of the farm team. And thankfully, they never ask for a day off. 😉Here’s to the tiny pollinators that help make harvest season possible. 💛
