My husband, daughter, and I have been trying as team to get all the sheep into one field with no luck! 😩

(We have a break between the pastures so the sheep have been going back and forth when they feel like it.)

We have not been able to get the ALL into the one field away from the cow. They are constantly bothering Honey while we try to milk and it has added so much stress on top of us getting comfortable milking.

Today we gave my 3 year old, Gatlin, the task of keeping the sheep away from Honey while we milk, and he took his task VERY serious. He was able to get ALL the sheep in the other field. BY HIMSELF!!! 😂😂😂
Looks like we have a little rancher on our hands! 🥰
He got all the high fives and fist bumps.

Ever heard someone say “Once in a Blue Moon”?
Well, tonight (5/31/26) is a Blue Moon 🌕

The phrase “once in a blue moon” means something that happens very rarely. 🌕

The expression comes from the term “blue moon,” which is the name given to an extra full moon that occasionally occurs in a calendar cycle. Because blue moons are uncommon, people began using the phrase to describe events that don’t happen often.

Interestingly, a blue moon doesn’t actually look blue most of the time. It’s simply an astronomical term. In modern usage, a blue moon is commonly defined as the second full moon in a single calendar month, which happens about every 2½ to 3 years.

So when someone says “once in a blue moon,” they’re simply saying “once in a great while” or “very rarely.” 🌕✨

Sometimes you just take what you get and roll with it! 😂😂

We accidentally spilled food in front of the stanchion while getting Honey in for milking. Well, she decided she wasn’t going to let it go to waste. 😂 As she got in the stanchion, she went downward dog to get it and eat. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I will say it did make milking her easy because that position pushed her t***s backward and it was easy to apply the machine. 😂

We got around a gallon from her today. And again went to the dogs only because we want to make sure we have it all down before we start collecting for ourselves. I think a couple more times and we’ll be there!!! 🎉

Raw milk will never go to waste around our farm. 🥛❤️

Right now, we are still learning and Honey is still learning right along with us. Some days are messy, some days are frustrating, and some days feel like a huge accomplishment. But that’s just part of the journey when working with animals and learning new things on the homestead. 🐄

Even though we aren’t quite at the point of collecting milk for ourselves yet, none of it goes to waste around here. Our LGDs, Casper and Rosie, are absolutely loving the extra milk and think milking time is the best part of the day. 🐶🥛

Every day we get a little more comfortable, Honey gets a little more comfortable, and we get one step closer to being able to fully use the milk for our family. Until then, we’re just thankful for the learning process, the lessons in patience, and the animals that help make sure nothing goes to waste around the farm. 🌿🤍

No kicks, no struggles, she went in the stanchion like butter! It was great! 👍🏼 Now if we can do this every single time, we will start getting milk saved for us to be able to use!! Yay!!!😁

Sorry we haven’t been posting as much here lately. 😔

I feel like we have been a little too focused on social media lately so trying to get back to our core and putting the focus back on what truly matters. 🥰

Our engagements and views are obviously going to take a hit but it’s all good! 😊 I’ll still post here and there, but it won’t be as much.

Hope everyone understands and will still stick around to see us when we do post. ❤️

When you’re out hand milking the cow and she has been laying around in the mud today. I don’t know how many times she smacked me with her tail! 😳
She even got me across the face at one point. 👎🏻
