Koen and I were checking out for an evening jaunt and he dragged me down into the ditch to check out the water. Looked up to a perfect June 1st view- saturated green pastures with cows grazing, sun setting over the mountain, blueberry field blossoming in the distance, and Mars waiting patiently at the crossing so he doesn't get wet paws (some tough farm dog ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿถ)

Did you know that many modern day flower varieties have been bred for longevity, durability form and color, which over time has sacrificed their natural scents?

These fancy daffs are breaking the mold- not only are they adorable, but they are SO fragrant!

Creamy fluffy blooms, gold streaked centers and a scent that brings you back to grandma's garden in spring ๐Ÿ˜Š What more could you ask for?!?

I turned around and saw the leaves moving, but no Koen. He was taking his rhubarb flower cutting duties to the next level by becoming one with the plants๐Ÿ˜‚

We've cut hundreds of pounds of our organically raised ruby red rhubarb in the last couple of weeks and it's traveled all over Vermont to restaurants, bakeries, jameries, schools, other farmstands and your homes! Keep those orders coming- these plants are still rockin thanks to Koen's close eye! ๐Ÿง

K was just a baby in our last photos so we grabbed a few new ones in the field when the skies cleared today.

Another season is taking root, and we're honored to fill your tables and and homes with fresh food, beautiful flowers, and a little more connection to the land and hands that raised it.

Good things grow here. ๐ŸŒฑ

This week we welcomed a Christopher Kimballโ€™s Milk Street cooking retreat tour to the farm, and what a great group it was!
We spent the morning walking the farm and talking all things rhubarb, grass-fed beef, haymaking, strawberries, flowers, and the realities of producing local food on a small scale.

Guests snacked on our rhubarb custard bars and strawberry mint sun tea before joining Rosie Gill and Wes Martin of Milk Street for a hands-on cooking class featuring our grass-fed beef and other local products from the farmstand.

Experiences like this are one of our favorite parts of farming, connecting people more closely to where their food comes from and sharing it with folks who truly appreciate good food, good company, and the work behind it all!
